本研究の目的は, 外部刺激により変形可能な刺激応答性ハイドロゲルをマイクロファイバ状に成形し, マイクロファイバの自己折りたたみにより複雑な3次元構造を形成する技術を確立することである。マイクロ流体デバイスを利用し, 一部分が膨潤・収縮する機能を持つ機能性マイクロファイバ形状を構築した。このマイクロファイバを温度およびpHで刺激することにより, 伸縮をするスプリング型のソフトアクチュエータや送液可能なチューブ状マイクロポンプ, バンドル構造をもつ人工筋肉アクチュエータの構築に成功した。 The aim of this study is to establish a technology to form complicated three-dimensional structures by self-folding of stimuli-responsive swelling/shrinking hydrogel microfibers. Using microfluidic devices, hydrogel microfibers where stimuli-responsive materials were spatially patterned were fabricated. By stimulating those microfibers by changing temperature or pH, we successfully demonstrated spring-shaped soft actuators that largely expands and contracts, tubular micropumps that can deliver liquid inside, and artificial muscle actuators composed of bundled microfibers.
