勅撰歌人3000名余りの伝記と経歴を収録する, 南北朝時代成立の勅撰作者部類について, 伝本研究と本文批判, その史料としての価値を明らかにした。さらに校本を編纂して, これらの成果を収録する論文集『中世和歌史の研究撰歌と歌人社会』(塙書房)を5月に刊行した。これによって, 中世歌人, とりわけ出自の不明であった武家・遁世者の伝記を考え直すための基盤となることを願う。このうち, 最も影響力の大きい兼好法師の伝記を引き続いて考証して, 『兼好法師徒然草に記されなかった真実』を執筆して刊行した。そして兼好と同時代で知己であった歌人是法法師についての伝記考証を別に論文にまとめて公表した。勅撰和歌集の編纂が途絶した室町中期から戦国期にかけては, もはや拠るべきものがないため, 歌人の出自や伝記は, しばしば近世に入って成立した野史や系譜に頼って記述されていることが多い。これらは早急に良質な史料に基づいて訂正していく必要がある。但し, 史料は地域的に拡散して厖大に残存して所在も明らかではないものが多く, かつ殆どが未翻刻であるので, 南北朝以前とは事情が異なっていて, 研究方法もおのずと異なっている。このことを念頭に置いて, 地方における文学活動と現地での歌人の事績を明らかにすることに努めた。そこでは, 文化に対する地方からの求心性に視点を置いている。その主たる成果として「室町期の武士と源氏物語」および「今川氏と和歌」の論文2本を刊行し, また7月の中世学研究会では「「戦国時代の文化伝播」の実態―地方は中央に何を求めたか?」と題して報告し, さらには9月の和漢比較文学会大会で講演「戦国大名の文芸と和漢聯句」を行って, 文学活動における東国大名と臨済宗妙心寺派の禅僧との関わりを探った。さらに中世的な歌学の伝統を色濃く残す, 江戸前期の弘前藩当主(津軽信義・信政父子)の和歌活動について研究を進めた。 This research concerns the study of works of literature-that of biographies of Japanese waka poets from Muromachi to Edo period and that of poems written by these poets. Unfortunately, previous studies on the poets of these periods have been scarce ; moreover, few of them are based on ample evidence. Hence, this research aims to cast doubt on their credibility by gaining new insights from reliable sources. Note that this research is that of classical Japanese literature, the meanings and purposes of which cannot-and perhaps should not-be understood in languages other than Japanese. Therefore, the author strongly recommends that readers of this research follow the argument in Japanese.
