本研究の主題は, 昨年度から引き続きスポーツ競技という極めて過酷な時間的および空間的制約のある環境を対象とし, 熟練競技者による「先を見る」ための視覚探索活動について眼球運動計測を中心に実験的な検討を行い, さらには指導現場において用いられている知覚学習方略を発展させた新たな知覚トレーニングシステムの開発に寄与することであった。本研究は2つの課題から構成されており, 課題1の『各種競技フィールドにおける熟練競技者の視覚探索活動特性の評価』においては, これまでに研究代表者らのグループにて行ってきた研究実績を踏まえ, 今年度は特に, 特にテニス(ソフトテニス), ラグビー, 野球といった競技の1対1場面状況を設定し, 熟練競技者の眼球運動計測を元に優れた視覚探索活動について実験的検討を行った。特に野球競技においては野手の打球判断時に着目し, 熟練遊撃手の視線と反応速度, 正答率において, 外野手, 投手, 初心者との差異が明確となった。本研究内容は第一弾として国際スポーツ心理学会にて発表を行った。課題2の『「先を見る」ための新たな知覚学習方略の検討』については, 課題1で実施したシミュレーション実験の結果をもとに, 顕在性, 潜在性を考慮した「先を見る」ための知覚学習について実験的な検討を行った。具体的にはテニス(ソフトテニス), ラグビー, さらにはサッカー(フットサル), フェンシングの1対1場面状況をシミュレートし, 時間的遮蔽技術を採用した視覚刺激を呈示することにより, 知覚スキルの特性について検討した。多くの被験者を採用することで, 各種目, 各競技場面での特徴が明確になった。今後はさらに検証可能なスポーツ競技を対象とし, 研究の進捗および各競技の協力者との関係を考慮しつつ, データ獲得範囲を柔軟に設定し, 最終的な知覚トレーニングシステムへに寄与するための, 学習方略について着目していきたい。 Expert performers are almost routinely able to cope with severe constraints and can consistently demonstrate superior performance. The purpose of this study is to explore the mechanisms involved in the perceptual-motor expertise of "look ahead" in sports, and contribute the development of novel perceptual training for players. In the sport of baseball, successful field the balls requires not just catch the ball, but also perception skills in order to predict the direction in which the ball would be hit by the batter, and to respond to the batter's movement pattern as early as possible, and moreover pitcher's movements and the thrown ball as well. In this study, we analyzed visual search activities of experts who are playing college baseball league and novices, and their reactions in the simulated baseball fielding situation. The results indicated differences in visual search strategies between players even though within groups. Findings are discussed from empirical and coaching perspectives.
