現在, 『源氏物語』の研究において使用されているテクストは青表紙本系統の大島本という一写本である。しかし, このテクストは作者自筆のものではないし, 写された時代も室町時代まで下る。『源氏物語』の写本は, きわめて多く存在しており, 一つのテクストに固定して研究することは, 研究の範囲を著しく狭めることになる。
そこで, 大島本とは別の系統の写本で『源氏物語』を読んでみることを提案する。今回は手始めに, 青表紙本とは系統が異なる河内本で読んでみる。河内本系統の中でも書写された時期が古い尾州家本を取り上げる。尾州家本は, 近年, 精緻な影印本が刊行されており, これを使用することにより, 大きな効果を上げることができる。
本年度は, 夕顔巻, 若紫巻, 紅葉賀巻, 関屋巻, 篝火巻, 鈴虫巻を抽出して検討した。その結果判明したことは以下のとおりである。
大島本と尾州家本を比較すると, 一方が具体的表現であるのに対して, 他方が抽象的表現であるという, 対応関係がみられた。数量的には, 尾州家本が具体的表現であることが多いが, 逆に大島本が具体的表現であることも, 少数存在する。具体的表現であれば, 読者は物語の展開を理解しやすく, 抽象的表現であれば想像の翼を働かせることになる。研究の基礎となる読解そのものが変わってくることとなる。作品の本文は, 読者や研究者の思考を導くものであるから, 具体的か抽象的かという相違は, きわめて大きな意味を持っている。
大学院の授業でも取り上げてみたところ, 大島本で読んでいた時は見えていなかったものが見えてきた, 解釈の異なる可能性が出てきた, 文章の接続関係が変わったという意見が多かった。
こうした地道な作業を継続することにより, 『源氏物語』の本文研究と注釈に新しい可能性を開くことができると思われる。
The text used in a study of "the Tale of Genji" at present is one manuscript called Oshima-hon of this blue cover system. But the time which wasn't the one of author handwriting and was copied also goes down this text until Muromachi era. A manuscript of "the Tale of Genji" exists quite much, and it'll be to narrow the reach of the study remarkably to fix on one of text and study.
So reading "the Tale of Genji" by a manuscript of the system different from Oshima-hon is proposed. A blue cover book is Kawachi book different in the system this time in the beginning, and it'll be read. Bishuke-hon where copied time is old in this Kawachi system. A minute facsimile edition is issued in recent years, and Bishuke-hon can get the big good results by using this.
Yugao book, Wakamurasaki book, Momijinoga book, Sekiya book, Kagaribi book and Suzumushi book were picked out and it was considered the current year. The, it results, it's as follows that it was revealed.
While one was a concrete expression when Oshima-hon and Bishuke-hon were compared, the correspondence that the other is an abstract expression was seen. Bishuke-hon is often a concrete expression quantitatively, but Oshima-hon also does small number existence of that it's a concrete expression conversely. When it's a concrete expression, a reader tends to understand development of a story, and when it's an abstract expression, I'll make imagination work. Itself will change the reading and comprehension which becomes a basis of a study. Because a body of a work leads thought of a reader and a researcher, difference whether it's abstract whether it's embodied makes the very big sense.
When the class of the graduate school was taken up, when reading at Oshima-hon, there were a lot of opinions with which relation of connection of the sentences of which a possibility that the one which wasn't seen is different in seen interpretation has come out changed.
It seems possible to open a new possibility in a body study of "the Tale of Genji" and annotation by continuing such steady work.
