会計の有用性, とりわけ財会計の有用性, とりわけ財務情報の価値関連性がここ数十年にわたり低下してきたことが指摘されている。企業活動の複雑化にもかかわらず, それを会計基準が捉えきれていないこと, 企業の収益源が有形資産から無形資産にシフトしているものの現行の会計基準が無形資産について即時費用化を求めていること, 財務情報の中に圧倒的に多くの見積もり要素が混入していることなどが要因に挙げられる。企業全体の価値を把握するため, 投資家は企業の事業環境や顧客に価値を提供するしくみ(ビジネスモデル)とそれを具体的に展開する戦略を理解しなければならない。しかし, 企業の収益性の源が有形資産から無形資産にシフトしているにもかかわらず, 企業の有する知的財産, ブランド等の自己創設無形資産はすべて費用化されるため, 現行の会計基準に基づく財務情報のみでは企業価値を正しく評価しがたい。それゆえ企業価値の適切な評価のためには, より多くの非財務情報を開示すべきだという主張につながる。現在, 世界中で展開されている統合報告書の作成の動きなどはその1つの表れと見ることもできる。しかし企業は, 有価証券報告書や会社計算書類をはじめとする強制開示書類の他に, 企業のウェッブサイトやCSR報告書, サステナビリティ報告書, 環境報告書など既に様々な媒体を通じて多様な情報を提供している。にもかかわらず, 開示情報の不足が会計情報の有用性低下の原因なのだろうか。この点, 筆者には情報の量ではなく, 情報提供の仕方に要因があるように思われる。そこで本稿では, 現在, 企業から提供されている非財務情報のうち, 特に企業の収益源とされる自己創設無形資産に焦点を当て, 非財務情報を強制開示とすべきか, また開示する箇所をどこにすべきか, さらに財務情報と非財務情報の連携性の検討を通じて将来のディスクロージャーの方向性を模索した。非財務情報の保証は, 今後の課題である。 Many has argued that the usefulness of accounting information has been deteriorated for decades regardless of the East and the West of the ocean, and one of its factors is that intangibles such as brands and customer relationships are not capitalized on the balance sheets. In this paper, we consider the pros and cons of arguments on the recognition of internally generated intangibles. And we consider financial and non-financial information are different from the view point of reliability, so I propose those information should be disclosed in the separate report and also should be connected each other so as to make them easy to understand the whole picture of the company's business model. An issue on assurance of non-financial information remains as a future task.
