当研究では英国家計調査データ(Family Expenditure Survey(1961-2001), Expenditure and Food Survey(2001-2007), Living Costs and Food Survey(2007-))の1983年から2014年までの家計レベルの消費品目データを用いて, 家計あたりの非耐久消費財及びサービスへの消費金額の導出を行った。その際, 調査年によって, 1)品目分類コードが追加や廃止によって異なる事, 2)1週目と2週目がそれぞれ別で総計2週間分の消費が得られる場合と, 1週間の平均消費のみ得られる場合(1993/1994年及び2011年以降)がある事, 3)説明書にはprice(価格)と書いてある列が実際にはexpenditure(支出)を指すという非常に紛らわしい点(UK Data Service, University of Manchesterに確認済みで, このためにデータ分析を全てやり直し済み)がある事に注意して標本の作成を行った。具体的には1983年を例にとると, 1)全家計の全消費品目で約56万行ある消費品目への消費金額から出発し, 2)全ての耐久消費財品目を除去し, 残りとして約53万行の非耐久消費財及びサービス品目への消費金額を得て, 3)約7000家計に対して, その家計におけるこれらの個別の消費品目の消費金額を足し合わせることにより, 家計毎の非耐久消費財及びサービスへの消費金額を計算した。今後の分析予定は, 3)で導出したデータを家計毎に家計人数で割り, さらに非耐久財及びサービスのデフレーターで除することにより, 家計毎の一人あたり実質非耐久財及びサービス消費金額の導出することである。その際, この値の対数値を月次及び四半期毎に分け, その期間でクロスセクションの分散を計算すれば, 月次及び四半期の消費のおける不平等性の指数を導くことができる。現在3)まで作業が終わっているためその後の作業は, それほど時間をかけずに行えるが, 月次の不平等性指数と四半期の不平等性指数のどちらを導出するか, 既存の研究を踏まえつつ検討している段階である。 In this project, I created household level non-durable and services consumption for each household for each year from 1983 to 2014 based on Household level consumption database from UK (Family Expenditure Survey (1961-2001), Expenditure and Food Survey(2001-2007), Living Costs and Food Survey (2007-)).
