本研究は、景気変動が健康の水準に与える影響とその背景にあるメカニズムを日本のデータを用いて実証的に明らかにすることを目的とした。本研究の成果は、次の2点にまとめることができる。第一に、景気変動が健康状態に及ぼす影響は、日本においてはこれまで多くの国で観察されていた景気循環的な影響がみられないことが、複数のデータや健康指標を用いて検証された。第二に、メカニズムの一つである所得受取が健康状態に与える影響は、平均的には認められなかった。 The purpose of this project is to explore the impact of business cycle on health and the mechanism behind using Japanese data. The results are summarized as the following two points. First, the relationship between business cycle and health is not found to be pro-cyclical in contrast to findings from other developed countries. The result is robust with multiple measures of health. Second, the income receipt is unlikely to be a key mechanism to explain the relationship between business cycle and health.
