• Note (General): type:text; 新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により海外渡航が不可能になったため、当初の研究目標・手法の大幅な変更を余儀なくされた。まず、海外における米国のオルトライトの影響についてはインターネットや書籍による情報収集が中心となった。ただし、2020年の秋以降は、Zoomなどを用いた海外の専門家や実務家へのヒアリングも限定的ではあるが可能になった。コロナによる外出自粛によりオンラインで過ごす時間が長くなり、オルトライトにとってはアウトリーチの機会が広がった。また、コロナへの対応をめぐる不満が高まったことも専門家やメディアへの不信がもともと強いオルトライトにとっては有利に働いた。こうした要因がより顕著な形で表れたのが陰謀論の世界的拡散である。アメリカのQAnonはヨーロッパやオーストラリアなどへも拡散し、それぞれの国・地域における極右政治に影響を及ぼしている。こうした動向を探る一方で、より根源的な白人（白人アメリカ人）をめぐる認識や受容そのものの歴史を理解する必要性を感じた。コロナの影響もあり、その一端を探る意味で、占領期の日本をケースに国立民族学博物館（大阪）、福岡アメリカンセンター（福岡）、沖縄県立図書館（那覇）などを訪れ、当時の一次資料を調査した。この調査は当初の想定以上に面白く、今後、白人性（whiteness）をめぐるポリティクスをより広い視点から位置付ける際に有益となりそうである。2020年のアメリカ大統領選挙に関しては日本国内でも陰謀論めいた言説が注目を集めたが、その根底には日本における白人理解という問題が横たわっているように思えた。海外渡航が可能になり次第、当初のヒアリングを実施する一方、日本国内における調査も同時に進めることで、より立体的に米国のオルトライトの世界的展開を理解することができるはずである。 Since overseas travel became impossible due to the spread of the new coronavirus, we were forced to drastically change our original research goals and methods. First, information on the impact of the U.S. ortholite overseas was collected mainly through the Internet and books. However, after the fall of 2020, it became possible to interview overseas experts and practitioners using Zoom and other methods, although on a limited basis. The refrain from going out of the office due to Corona has allowed us to spend more time online, which has opened up more opportunities for outreach for OrthoLite. The growing dissatisfaction with the way Corona was handled also worked to Alt-Right's advantage, as it had always had a strong distrust of experts and the media. One of the more striking manifestations of these factors was the global spread of conspiracy theories. QAnon in the U.S. has spread to Europe and Australia, influencing far-right politics in each country and region. While exploring these trends, I felt the need to understand the more fundamental history of the perception and acceptance of white people (white Americans). Partly due to the influence of Corona, I visited the National Museum of Ethnology (Osaka), the Fukuoka American Center (Fukuoka), the Okinawa Prefectural Library (Naha), and other institutions to investigate primary sources of the period, using Japan during the Occupation as a case study. This research was more interesting than I had initially expected and will be useful in situating the politics of whiteness from a broader perspective. As soon as I am able to travel abroad, I would like to go to Japan. As soon as I am able to travel overseas, I will conduct the initial hearings, and at the same time, I will conduct research in Japan, so that I will be able to understand the global development of the U.S. Alt-Right in a more three-dimensional way.; 申請種類 : 福澤基金研究補助
