マウス胎仔期の肌理、毛包形成において、ケラチン１７が特徴的な発現を認めた。ケラチン１７をノックダウンした皮膚培養系では、肌理の形成が抑制された。またケラチン１６をノックダウンした培養系でも、肌理の形成が抑制された。ケラチン１６や１７と相補的に働くとされるケラチン６に関しては、抑制しても肌理形成に影響はなかった。ケラチン１７を抑制した皮膚培養系では、コントロール群に比べ表皮の細胞増殖が抑制されていた。またマウス上皮細胞にケラチン１７を過剰発現させるとその細胞増殖能が上がり、ケラチンによる表皮細胞の増殖が肌理の形成に関与している可能性が示唆された。 Characteristic expression of keratin 17 was observed in mouse fetal texture and hair follicle formation. In a skin culture system in which keratin 17 was knocked down, texture formation was suppressed. Texture formation was also suppressed in a culture system in which keratin 16 was knocked down. Keratin 6, which is said to act complementarily to keratins 16 and 17, had no effect on texture formation. In the skin culture system in which keratin 17 was suppressed, cell proliferation of the epidermis was suppressed as compared with the control group. In addition, overexpression of keratin 17 in mouse epithelial cells increased its cell proliferation capacity. Experiments with keratin 17 knockout mice showed a tendency for the embryo texture of 15.5 day old fetal mice to become shallower, which is currently being analyzed.
