企業組織におけるイノべ―ションの創発過程に焦点を当て、日本企業と中国企業および韓国企業の革新的な新製品開発・新事業開発プロセスについて比較し、日中韓企業がどのようにイノベーション創発能力を構築してきたかを論じている。特に、大規模組織は組織の硬直化によってラディカルなイノベーションが起きにくいとされていることから、大規模組織における革新的なアイデアが事業化に向けて組織的な関与を拡大させていくプロセスについて理論的、かつ日中韓企業の事例を融合させて論じている。これらの比較を通じて、日本の大企業の新規事業開発で主流とされる慎重で減点的な創発プロセスが、中国企業、韓国企業といかに相違しているかを明らかにし、組織変革に向けての取り組みが必要であることを指摘している。
