• Note (General): type:text; 本研究では、明治期以降の文献、特に明治期の農村で執筆された農業日誌を調査することで、工場制度が成立する以前の日本社会において、整理・整頓・清掃・清潔・躾といった５S活動の起源を明らかにすることを目的とする。５Sとは、整理・整頓・清掃・清潔・躾の５つの用語を指す。これらの活動は、製造作業を標準化する際の前提であり、製造現場の問題発見・解決を行う改善活動の土台となるため、特に多品種少量化が求められる工場では極めて重要な活動である。本研究では、農村における５S活動の起源を明らかにするため、１つの仮説に基づいて分析を行った。それは、特に多品種少量化が求められる工場で５S活動が重要となることから、農村においても複数の生業活動、つまり稲作だけでなく畑作や養蚕、川漁や山仕事などを複合的に営む、いわゆる複合生業が求められる農村では、労働作業の基盤として５S活動が重要になり、明治期の農村で執筆された農業日誌にその痕跡が記されているのではないかという仮説である。この仮説に基づき、本研究では、神奈川県厚木市で明治中期から昭和初期にかけて執筆された星野日記という農業日誌の分析を行った。本年度は予備調査という位置づけで、複合生業間の関係性を分析するために、明治18年の星野日記の記述をもとに、以下２つの仮説のもと、その内容分析を行った。 （１）共有可能な物理資源（土地・道具・肥料など）の複数生業間での重複利用 （２）複数生業間でのインプット・アウトプットの連結利用 その結果、生業間の触媒的な仕事として、重複・連結利用される肥料の購入・運搬・配合作業、重複利用される道具の手入れ、連結利用される原料の運搬に加えて、複数生業間を結びつける触媒的な生業として、縄綯い・藁仕事がピックアップされた。今後は、これら生業間の触媒的な仕事の中に、整理・整頓・清掃・清潔・躾といった５S活動の萌芽が見られるか分析を継続していきたい。 The objective of this study is to clarify the historical origin of 5's activities by focusing on the agricultural activities that connect with multiple livelihoods. To achieve this objective, an agricultural diary called "Hoshino-nikki" was analyzed. "Hoshino-nikki" was handed down in Hoshino family of Atugi city, Kanagawa prefecture. It had been written for 45 years, from 1885 to 1930, by Iwakichi Hosino who was born in 1866 and died in 1930. In this study, 2 hypothetical patterns that connect with multiple livelihoods were listed. One is the overlapped usage of the physical resources that can be shared in multiple livelihoods, and the other one is the connective usage of inputs and outputs that can be shared in multiple livelihoods. As a preliminary study, these 2 hypothetical patterns were examined in the 1885's description of "Hoshino-nikki". Through the analysis, the activities that connect with multiple livelihoods were listed: 1) double cropping, 2) growing on the ridge of the field, 3) repairing tools for overlapped usage, 4) overlapped and connective usage for fertilizers and 5) straw crafting. In the next year, I would like to analyze how these 5 activities had changed in the subsistence composition of Hoshino family from Meiji period to the early Showa period in order to clarify the historical origin of 5's activities.
