• Note (General): type:text; 本研究課題では、R.コールハース的なジェネリックな空間やジャンク・スペース、M.オジェのいう非－場所といった、現代の都市空間の特徴をなす複製的な空間をめぐる問題系を引き継ぐかたちで、ヒトを制御する技術がいかに都市に埋め込まれ、それら空間の編成と結びあってきたのかを考察することを目的として、とりわけエスカレーターを具体的題材に考察を展開した。具体的な作業のなかで、日本では未紹介のE.ワイツマンによる一連の論考が、本課題の理論的視座の構築に重要な意義をもつことが判明したため、本年度の後半はワイツマンの思想と実践の整理・検討に集中することとなった。本年度におこなった具体的作業は以下の通りである。 ①方法論の批判的検討。S.グレアムの都市インフラ論、A.アミンとN.スリフトの都市地理学、アクター・ネットワーク理論およびニュー・マテリアリズム、等々の流れを批判的に検討した。②新たな方法論的視座の構築のための基礎作業。インフラ論的次元およびマテリアルな次元を経由する都市空間論に新たな視座を与える、E.ワイツマンによる画期的な論考『フォレンジック・アーキテクチャ』を中心に、『ホロウ・ランド』および『可能ななかで最小の悪』を参照しながら、彼の建築的思考の特徴を整理・検討した。③エスカレーターの都市空間論的考察。移動のテクノロジーとしてのエスカレーターの特性を、コールハースやオジェの空間論を参照しつつ考察した。 具体的成果として、本研究課題の理論的視座の重要な参照点となる、ワイツマンの建築的思考の特徴について整理・検討した論考を執筆した。本論考を収めた書籍は、中西眞知子編『グローバル社会の変容――スコット・ラッシュとともに』（仮題）として、2019年度中に刊行される予定である。またアクター・ネットワーク理論をはじめとするモノの社会理論の考察を含む、松井広志『模型のメディア論』への書評も執筆した（近日中に『社会学評論』に掲載予定）。 This research project aimed to study the function of escalators as part of the built environment in the contemporary urban space, following the recent focus on infrastructural technology that enables vertical movement and flow of people in urban spaces. Referring to concepts such as generic cities and junk spaces proposed by Rem Koolhaas, as well as non-spaces proposed by Marc Augé, the project tried to examine how technologies, which control the flow of people, have been embedded in urban spaces. The following works were carried out to achieve the objective of the project: 1) A series of studies, such as the study on urban infrastructure by S. Graham, urban geography by A. Amin and N. Thrift, actor-network theory, and new materialism was critically reviewed. 2) E. Weizman's architectural thinking, which raised a new perspective on urban space theory focusing on infrastructural and material dimensions of urban environment, was reviewed and discussed with reference to works such as Forensic Architecture, Hollow Land, and The Least of All Possible Evils. 3) The characteristics of the escalator as a technology of movement were discussed with reference to theoretical concepts on urban space as proposed by Koolhaas and Augé.
