上記の研究課題のもと、3年目の本年度も関連図書を購入すると共に国内出張を実施した。当初の予定より図書費の支出を増やし、旅費を抑えたが、概ね順調に予算を執行し、研究に活かすことができた。以下、本年度公にした成果について述べたい。まず、論文「近世日本における民衆と仏教」を『現代思想』第46巻第16号（2018年）に発表した。本論文では、近世の社会状況を踏まえて仏教諸宗の多様な救済思想に言及し、身分・階層を超えて人々の生活と救済が肯定されたことを主張した。そして、当時の身分制社会を生き抜き、死を受け入れる上で仏教が重要な拠り所ないし桎梏となったことも指摘した。次に、西村玲『近世仏教論』（法蔵館、2018年）の書評を『史林』第101巻第6号（2018年）に発表した。本書評では、キリスト教や明末仏教との関係を含めて近世仏教の救済思想が重要な論点となっている。一方、岩城卓二氏・幡鎌一弘氏と共に監修を務めた本興寺編『本興寺文書』第5巻（清文堂出版、2019年）が刊行された。本書には本興寺（兵庫県尼崎市、法華宗）に伝来する近世史料の翻刻・解題などが収録されており、中でも寄進・供養・法義に関する史料は救済思想の社会的展開を知る手がかりとなる。また、論文「「寛容」をめぐる政権と仏教勢力」が収録された浅見雅一・野々瀬浩司編『キリスト教と寛容　―中近世の日本とヨーロッパ―』（慶應義塾大学出版会2019年）の刊行も成った。本論文では、世界に貫徹し自己にも内在する「心」が仏であると知ることを成仏と見なす、禅宗の思想（禅心学）に注目し、この思想が近世社会においてどのように発信・受容されたかを具体的に検討した。その中で、禅心学の立場からキリスト教が排除されたことにも触れた。以上のように、研究課題と関わる幾つかの論文等をまとめることができた。これらの成果を今後の取り組みにもつなげてゆきたい。 This year, I purchased books related to the research subject and carried out research trips. I increased spending on books more than originally planned and reduced travel expenses, but executed the budget generally well. And I wrote academic papers. For example, I mentioned various salvation thoughts of Buddhism in a paper entitled"Ruled people and Buddhism in early modern Japan (近世日本における民衆と仏教)." On the other hand, I focused on Zen Spiritualism and argued that Christianity was excluded based on this thought in a paper entitled"Political Power and Buddhist over tolerance (「寛容」をめぐる政権と仏教勢力)." I would like to apply the above results to future research.
