• Note (General): type:text; ネイティヴィズムとは、特定の国民が集合体としての自国民の結束と保全のための論理、意識、行動を指す。具体的には、「異国人」「外国人」を措定することで、その排除の論理と具体的な行動に現れる。 本研究は21世紀の東南アジア諸国におけるネイティヴィズムの比較研究である。2018年度は具体的に、ミャンマーとインドネシアにおけるネイティヴィズム発現のあり方と意味について研究した。 国際社会においてもよく知られているように、ミャンマーではロヒンギャに対する暴力と排除の論理と行動がある。国際社会や国際メディアがロヒンギャ排除に関して批判的な報道をしているにもかかわらず、仏教徒であるミャンマー国民の多くはそれが陰謀論であるかのように捉え、積極的にアウン・サン・スー・チー政権の対応を支持している。この裏には、2010年代から高揚しているミャンマー・ナショナリズムの作用が働いている。 他方インドネシアでは、2019年4月17日の大統領選挙を控えて、17年頃から政治の季節が始まっていた。この間大統領候補者プラボウォ陣営は、イスラーム保守層の囲い込みをはかるとともに、反中国・中国人キャンペーンを大々的に展開してきた。インドネシア・ナショナリズムを声高に唱えるのもこの陣営である。背景には2000年代から活発になった中国政府・地方政府・企業によるインドネシアに対する積極的な投資とその余波があった。しかも民主化後には影を潜めていたインドネシア華人に対する差別的な発言や行動も陰に陽に展開されるようになった。 以上から、ネイティヴィズムはナショナリズムの過激な一形態としてミャンマー社会とインドネシア社会には定着していることが明確になった。 Nativism can be defined as the logic, consciousness and action in order to unite and secure the majority people in a given country. It appears as a form and logic of anti-foreigners. This research has explored nativism in Southeast Asia in a comparative perspective. It compares the ways in which nativism appears in Myanmar and Indonesia. As is well-known, there is a series of violence and exclusion in Myanmar. The international community and international media condemned how the Myanmar government has treated the Rohingya, and yet the majority Buddhist population ardently support the Aun San Suu Kyi government. This shows how strong Myanmar's Buddhist nationalism functions in the context of the Rohingya issue. In the case of Indonesia, nativism is integrated with nationalism with a strong connotation of Islamic conservatism. The presidential candidate, Prabowo, and his team have developed its political campaign by protesting China and Chinese people. There has been a vast amount of investments from the Chinese government, local governments, and private companies since 2000, but some has resulted in unwanted consequences. This has led to performing anti-China and anti-Chinese campaigns by the Prabowo supporters as well as conservative Islam activists. In sum, both Myanmar and Indonesia see that nativism has taken root in the society as an extreme form of nationalism.
