• Note (General): type:text; 本研究の目的は、日本の少女文化におけるアメリカ文学・文化の受容について、その歴史的背景を調査研究することである。2018年度は、まず明治期に出版された少女向け・女学生向けの雑誌を調査し、そこに登場する海外事情や、海外の女性の暮らしなどに関する記事を抽出した。『女學雑誌』『少女の友』を中心に記事を見ていくと、洋間で微笑む日人少女の写真の他に、本の西洋人形の紹介や、外国の女子学校の授業風景の写真などが紹介されていることがわかる。また海外を舞台にした読み物も多く掲載されており、当時の読者と想定される少女たちは、こうした少女雑誌から「外国」をイメージしていた可能性がうかがわれる。 第二次世界大戦後に時代を移すと、例えば雑誌『少女』では当時人気イラストレーターであった高橋真琴が作画を担当したバレエマンガなどが掲載されており、ここでもやはり少女雑誌における海外表象を見つけることができる。さらに『マーガレット』では「あなたもアメリカ式生活を楽しみましょう」といった記事が掲載され、海外への憧れを募らせるような役割を果たしていたことが確認された。 こうした海外表象には、「自由」や「おしゃれ」といったイメージが付与されていることが多く、それらが少女マンガ作品にも反映されている。本研究では水野英子、西谷祥子、忠津陽子などの作品から、80年代にかけての少女マンガにみられる海外表象の考察を試みた。 しかしながら、昭和初期から第二次世界大戦にかけての海外文化受容は調査が不足しており、今後はその時期を重点的に調査する必要がある。また1990年代以降は海外を舞台にした少女マンガが少なくなっている可能性についても今後検討する予定である。 The purpose of this project is to research a history of acceptance of Western culture in the era of Japanese modernization. In the magazines for girls published in Meiji era, there are quite a few articles and pictures which depict Japanese girls who have westernized living environments, the life of Western girls, or their school curriculum. Those magazines for girls had a certain role to inspire the yearnings for western culture among young readers (mainly girls). After World War II, the same situation occurred. Those magazines such as _Shojo_ or _Margaret_, in which we can find articles introducing a wonderful life of American girls as representations of liberty and fashion. By analyzing the shojo manga works by Hideko Mizuno, Yoshiko Nishitani, and Yoko Tadatsu, I shows the significant role for Japanese girls which western representation played from 1960s throughout 80s.
