• Note (General): type:text; 本研究の目的は、1939年9月に勃発した第2次世界大戦に対して、日中両国政府がどのように対応したかを明らかにすることにある。これまで日中戦争と第2次世界大戦に関する研究は数え切れないほど多い。しかし、両者の関係を検討する研究は非常に少ない。本研究では、日中双方の視点から、日中戦争と第2次世界大戦との関係について検討を加えてみたい。 この問題を検討するにあたって、まず大きな困難に直面する。それは日中戦争と第2次世界大戦の開始時期に関して異なる意見があるためである。筆者は、日中戦争に関しては、1937年7月の盧溝橋事件を起点とし、第2次世界大戦に関しては、1939年9月を起点としたい。 1939年9月4日に、阿部信行首相は第2次世界大戦に介入せず、もっぱら「支那事変」の解決にまい進するという声明を発表した。一方、蔣介石は英・仏・ソが日本と妥協することを懸念し、ドイツに宣戦布告するべきだと主張した。しかし、ヨーロッパ情勢が目まぐるしく変化していたため、中国はすぐにドイツに宣戦しなかった。 日本政府は「支那事変」を解決するために、汪兆銘政権の樹立を模索し、1940年3月に汪兆銘政権が成立した。それと同時に日本政府は、さまざまなルートを通じて、重慶にある蔣介石政権と和平交渉を行った。しかし、それらの和平交渉はいずれも失敗に終わった。1940年11月30日に日本政府は汪兆銘政権を正式に承認した。それに伴って、日本と蔣介石政権と和解する可能性がなくなった。 日中両国政府は、ともに日中戦争の終結を望んでいた。しかし、その解決方法は異なっていた。日本政府は、中国において親日政権を樹立して、それをもって蔣介石政権に圧力をかけようとしていた。それに対して、蔣介石政権は米・英・ソの力に頼って、日本に圧力をかけようとしていたのである。 The purpose of this research is to examine how the governments of Japan and China responded to the Second World War that broke out in September 1939. There have been numerous studies on the Sino-Japanese War and World War II. However, studies that investigated the relationship between the two wars have been limited. In this research, I attempt to inquire into the relationship between the Sino-Japanese War and World War II, from the perspectives of both Japan and China. When beginning this research, there is a big challenge that we must first overcome. This is because there are many different opinions about the starting time of the Sino-Japanese War and World War II. In my personal view, I consider that the Sino-Japanese War started from the Marco Polo Bridge Incident happened in July 1937, and World War II started from September 1939. On September 4, 1939, Prime Minister Nobuyuki Abe, issued a statement saying that Japan would not get involved into World War II, but would resolve the "China Incident". On the other hand, Chiang Kai-shek feared that Britain, France and Russia would compromise with Japan, and argued that China should declare war against Germany. Nevertheless, as the situation in Europe rapidly changed, China did not declare war against Germany immediately. To resolve the "China Incident", the Japanese government sought to set up a new government in the Japanese controlled regions of China, and the Wang Jingwei Regime was established in March 1940. At the same time, the Japanese government engaged in peace negotiations with the Chiang Kai-shek administration in Chongqing through various routes. However, those peace negotiations ended in failure. On November 30, 1940, the Japanese government officially approved the inauguration of the Wang Jingwei government. Following that, the possibility of reconciliation between Japan and the Chiang Kai-shek administration vanished completely. The governments of Japan and China both wanted to end the Sino-Japanese war, but the approaches that they took were different. The Japanese government tried to end the war by installing a pro-Japanese regime in China, whereas the Chiang Kai-shek administration tried to rely on assistance provided by the United States, Britain, and Russia.
