本共同研究の第一の目標は、現在進行中であるメキシコ麻薬戦争の実情を少しでも多くの日本人に知ってもらう機会をもうけることだった。そしてこの状況を単なる麻薬組織の犯罪としてではなく、国家機関の不関与・無関心によって助長された人権問題としてとらえなおすことだった。この目的のために、テーマに関連する映画上映会と講演会を一般公開で実施した。上映会は8月20日(月)に三田キャンパス北館ホールで実施。メキシコ麻薬戦争に巻き込まれた行方不明者家族の捜索活動を描いた、アリシア・カルデロン監督のドキュメンタリー映画『ある捜索の記録』を上映した。参加者は約30名ほどだったが、上映後の質疑応答では熱心な質問・意見があり、来場者の関心の高さが際立っていた。上映会に先立ち、7月18日に研究会を開催し、同映画の字幕を合同で監修したと同時に、山本が映画の背景となるメキシコ麻薬戦争について詳細を報告した。さらに、主にアルゼンチン(出岡)やチリ(安井)における行方不明者家族の活動との比較という視点から議論した。また、アメリカ合衆国とラテンアメリカ各国との政治的関係についても議論された。 8月30日にはメキシコ・ベラクルスを中心に活動する、行方不明者家族の会ソレシートの代表ルシア・ディアスさんを招き、「国連強制失踪者デーに考えるメキシコの現状」と題する講演会を北館ホールで実施した。講演会ではまず、山本がメキシコでの家族による捜索活動を自ら取材したビデオを上映しながら、問題の背景を解説し、その後ディアスさんに講演していただいた。約50名が来場し、講演後にはきわめて活発な質疑応答がなされた。講演会終了後、ディアスさんと研究会メンバーとで意見交換の場を設けた。なお、講演会のようすはすべて録画し、9月に日吉キャンパスで新入生歓迎行事の一環として開催された、関連テーマの「記憶の足跡」展の会場で常時上映した。上映会も講演会も夏季休暇期間だったため、学生の数が少なかったのは残念だった。 The primary goal of this research was to provide an opportunity for as many Japanese people to understand the current situation of the Mexican drug war. For this purpose, the film screening and lecture related to the theme were held in public. The screening was held at the Mita Campus on August 20. We screened Alicia Calderon's documentary movie, "Retratos de una búsqueda." There were about 30 participants. After the screening, there were enthusiastic questions and opinions. The lecture of Lucía Díaz, representative of Solecito, a group of Mexicans who search their missing family, was held on August 30. Before her lecture Prof. Yamamoto gave a presentation on the background of the problem. About 50 people attended and very active questions and answers were made after the lecture.
