• Note (General): type:text; 粒径の違いによる表面エネルギーの差が駆動力となって大きな粒子がさらに粗大化するオストワルド成長は，同一金属イオンを含む電解液中では局所的な析出・溶解による局部電池反応によって促進されることが知られている．金属粒子の粗大化はめっき膜等の性状に影響する．そこで本研究では，リアルタイム観察を含む手法で電気化学的オストワルド成長機構の解析を行い，結晶粒径制御への応用を目標としている．本年度は，成長への影響因子の検討に先立ち，電極質量変化をリアルタイム観察できる水晶振動子マイクロバランス（EQCM）法を組み合わせた反応解析を中心に進めた． 電極には水晶振動子に白金を蒸着したPt-EQCM電極を用いた．添加剤を含む硝酸銀水溶液中において，定電流電析によってPt-EQCM電極上に1〜10マイクロメートル程度の銀の粒状析出物を得た．この電極を添加剤を含まない0.15 M硝酸銀水溶液中に浸漬して，デジタル顕微鏡による観察に加えて，水晶振動子の共振応答を同時観察した．また，測定の前後で電子顕微鏡（SEM）を用いて電極上の全ての銀粒子を観察し，浸漬前後での成長の有無を調べた． 浸漬中のリアルタイム観察でデジタル顕微鏡の倍率では粒径の変化は見られなかったが，浸漬前後で全銀粒子のSEM像を比較すると，明瞭な結晶面をもつ成長と溶解ピットがそれぞれ複数箇所で観察された．浸漬中に電極質量変化を反映する水晶振動子電極の共振周波数に有意な変化が観察されなかったことから，局部電池反応で銀が析出・溶解することで正味の質量変化を伴わない粒成長が進行したことが確認できた．また，より小さい粒子に変化がないのに対して，局所的な溶解箇所は5角10面体の多重双晶粒子上で多く見られた．5つの4面体で構成される多重双晶粒子には幾何学的に歪みが存在することが知られているため，粒径の差よりも歪みの存在が局所溶解の駆動力になっている可能性が示唆された． The Ostwald ripening of metal particles due to the difference in surface energy is known to be accelerated by the local cell mechanism in the electrolyte containing the same metal ions. The ripening of particles affects the properties of the coating. Therefore, in the present study, the mechanism of the electrochemical Ostwald ripening is investigated by the in-situ observation of the particles and in-situ monitoring of the electrode mass using electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) technique. Granular Ag particles were prepared on a Pt-EQCM electrode by galvanostatic deposition in AgNO3 aqueous solution containing an additive to prevent the dendritic growth. The electrode was then immersed in AgNO3 solution without the additive and observed using a digital microscope. The resonance frequency of the Pt-EQCM electrode was monitored simultaneously. All the Ag deposits on the electrode were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) before and after the immersion to compared the sizes of the particles. The growth of Ag particles with the fine facets and the dissolution pits were observed after immersion by SEM, though the change in the size of Ag particles was not observed by the digital microscope. The changes in resonance frequency was negligible during the immersion. Since the resonance frequency of EQCM electrode reflects the mass change of the electrode, local growth and dissolution of Ag particles proceeded without net mass change. The local dissolution occurred on the decahedral fivefold multiply twinned particle (MTP). The local dissolution of large MTP suggested that the principal driving force of the local dissolution is considered to the distortion in MTP not to the particle size.
