• Note (General): type:text; 大学図書館では，貸出ログや入館ログといった利用データを用いて，図書館利用者の行動やニーズを分析し，サービス改善に繋げることは従来までも行われてきたが，それらのデータからでは，施設の空席情報や滞在時間，館内での利用者の行動など，可視化できていない部分も多いという課題があった．そこで本研究では，種々のIoT (Internet of Things) デバイスを用いて，図書館における利用状況把握のための技術開発に取り組んだ． 1. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) ビーコンを用いた利用者行動統計 数秒間隔で周囲に自身のIDを発信するBLEビーコン約100個を書架の上および蔵書検索端末に配置し，館内資料を探索してもらい，ビーコン信号をスマートフォンで受信することにより探索中の軌道データを記録した．このデータを解析し，文献探索時間，文献探索端末の利用時間，移動軌跡といった利用者行動統計を明らかにした． 2. Wi-Fi端末の発するビーコン信号を利用したユーザの滞在時間推定 来館者のスマートフォンが送信するWi-Fiフレームを図書館内に設置した端末で受信することで，滞在時間を推定する方法を提案した．さらに，不定期でMACアドレスを変化させる端末に対応するため，観測されたどのWi-Fiフレーム群が同一端末から発信されたものかを特定する手法を提案した．図書館で実験を行い，これらの有効性を検証した． 3. センサを用いた在席状況判定 2つのセンサを用いて，利用者が図書館内のどの座席に着席しているかをリアルタイムに把握する手法を検討した．まず椅子に，駆動電源を必要としないRFID (Radio Frequency Identification)タグを貼り付け，床にRFIDリーダを埋設し，定常的にタグを読み取り，受信信号強度の変化を学習することで着席を判定する．また照射範囲の温度を8x8の画素毎に計測可能な赤外線温度センサを用いて，椅子毎に着席を判定する手法を提案した．実証実験によりこれらの有効性を確認した． Among college/university libraries, it has been very common to record, compile and analyze the entry history of library patrons to improve library services, though the analysis was not helpful enough to clarify the facts such as seat availability, length of staying time, or behaviors of the library patrons. In this research, we introduce our experiments using IoT devices to collect and analyze data for behavioral research. Our research consists of the following three topics. 1. User activity study in college library with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons BLE beacons have been installed in the library building, while the research participants carry smartphones customized for the experiments. Data obtained through the smartphones are sent to the beacons, and integrated to reveal the patrons' searching behavior and path-finding in the building. We demonstrated its feasibility and clarified many important statistics such as search time, usage time of KOSMOS terminals, and user traceability. 2. Usage duration estimation with Wi-Fi frame signals By monitoring Wi-Fi frame signals that users' terminals emit, a novel method to measure users' usage duration in the library is proposed. Furthermore, a de-anonymisation method is proposed to accurately measure its duration even if Wi-Fi terminals are equipped with the so-called MAC address randomization. 3. Seat occupancy detection with sensors We proposed two approaches that detect seat occupancy. The first one is an RFID-based method. RFID tags are attached on chairs while RFID readers are installed on the floor. By continuously reading the RSSI of tags and calculating its change, it can be accurately judged whether when persons/objects are on chairs or not. The second one is an infrared sensor-based method that detects seat occupancy with an infrared sensor installed on the ceiling. We conducted a series of experiments in the college library and showed that our schemes are effective.
