• Note (General): type:text; 液体分離という分野は、ガス分離と比べて比較的新しい分野である。我々は、ガス分離と異なり、液体分離では、分子が混みあっている効果を利用することができると考えた。本研究では、液体を構成する分子の微少な体積差を使って分離する新しい液体分離の原理を提案し、実験的に実際にデモンストレーションすることができた。具体的には、ポリオレフィンの一種であるP4MP1と呼ばれるフィルムの結晶内空隙に、ヘキサンやペンタンなど各種アルカンのうち鎖長の長い方のアルカンが優先的に吸蔵される現象を実験的に発見し、朝倉大沢理論により、このような優先的吸蔵現象に対する説明を行った。分子認識の観点から表現を試みれば、長い鍵穴には長い分子が鍵として適するという説明になると考えられる。主な結果は、2019年11月にLangmuir誌に採録・出版された。 この結果については、「サブナノ空隙を用いた新しい液体分離の考え方を提唱 －ポリオレフィン結晶内空隙を用いて鎖長の異なるアルカンを分離－」というタイトルで義塾からプレスリリースを行い、化学工業日報 2019年12月18日朝刊４面に「慶応大 体積の差で液体分離 ポリオレフィン膜を活用」という記事を掲載いただいた。また、当該論文は Langmuir 誌のSupplementary Cover に選出され、論文は現在までに400回程度ダウンロードされているようである。本研究の代表者は、この成果を2020年に開催される13th International IUPAC Conference on Polymer-Solvent and Intercalatesにおいて招待講演にて発表する予定である。 2019年度中に、新たに液体分離に関する動画を撮影し、この動画を用いて義塾として国内優先権出願を行うことができた。本助成の申請時に記述した目標については一部達成し、一部はまだ進展中である。詳細については特許出願中であるため、今後の論文を参照いただければ幸いである。 The field of liquid separation is relatively new compared to gas separation. We thought that, unlike gas separation, liquid separation can take advantage of the effect of crowded molecules. In this study, we proposed a new liquid separation principle that separates liquid molecules using small volume difference, and we demonstrated it experimentally. Specifically, we experimentally discovered a phenomenon in which the alkane with the longer chain length among various alkane mixtures such as hexane and pentane is preferentially absorbed in the crystal of a polymer film called P4MP1. We explained this preferential absorption phenomenon by use of the Asakura-Osawa theory. From the viewpoint of molecular recognition, this phenomenon could be said as; a long molecule is suitable as a key for a long keyhole. The main results were published in Langmuir in November 2019. Regarding this result, we put out a press release from from Keio University; "Proposal of a new liquid separation method using sub-nanopores ―Separation of alkanes with different chain lengths using the internal pores of polyolefin crystal―". On December 18, our discovory was reported in Japan Chemical Daily on the 4th page of the morning edition; "Keio University Demonstrated Liquid Separation by Volume Difference, Utilizing Polyolefin Membrane". Also, our paper was selected as a supplementary cover of Langmuir, and it seems that the paper has been downloaded about 400 times so far. In eary 2020, a video about liquid separation was shot, and we were able to apply for domestic priority as Keio University using this video. Although some of the goals stated at the time of applying for this grant have been achieved and some are still in progress, they include a lot of content that is pending for patent and has not been published as a paper, and thus we would like to provide details in future publications.
