IPAカードに関しては、様々な大学（慶應義塾大学・国際基督教大学・首都大学東京）でIPAカードを用いて実践教育を行い、また東京大学の学生の協力のもと、IPAカード遊びのルールを整理した。また、一般向けの言語学のワークショップを開催し、その中でIPAカードを使って発音記号を一般の方に紹介するという試みを2019年12月に行い、好評を得た。これらの活動に基づきIPAカード遊びのルールはウェブサイト（http://user.keio.ac.jp/~kawahara/IPAcard.html）にて公開した。さらに、この研究成果を論文としてまとめた（川原繁人・平田佐智子・桃生朋子（2020）IPAカード. REPORTS of the Keio Institute of Cultural and Linguistic Studies 51: 37-45.）。またこれらの活動の結果、IPAカードの増販を求める声も少なくなく、言語文化研究所から2020年度に増販をすることが決定した。IPAカードはリデザインを行い、上記の論文を膨らませたブックレットも執筆中である。このブックレットでは、IPAカードの遊び方だけでなく、これ一冊でIPAがどのようなものかなども分かるようになっている。リデザインは終了し、草稿はすでに書き上がっており、現在推敲・校閲中である。2020年度、前半には再版が可能になると期待される。 MRIの動画の整理も並行して進めた。まずは、MRI動画およびその他の音声学を学ぶための教材動画をまとめ、以下のサイトを拡張した（http://user.keio.ac.jp/~kawahara/sanseido.html）。このサイトを利用することにより、英語指導の際に、誰でもMRI動画を使用することが可能となっている。また、教育での応用だけでなく、MRI動画を作った研究も進めることができた。その成果の一部は、二つの国際学会にて発表予定である（ただし、現在の社会的状況の問題から、実際にどのような形で学会が開催されるかは未定。）。MRI分析に関しては、関連する知覚実験も含め、学術論文への投稿準備も進めている。 I have used IPA cards for undergraduate teaching at various universities, including Keio University, International Christian University, and Tokyo Metropolitan University. With the assistance of students from the University of Tokyo, we came up with basic set of rules regarding how to play with IPA cards. I have also organized a workshop on field linguistics targeting non experts; during that workshop, I have managed to teach what IPA symbols are using IPA cards. Thanks to these activities, the basic rules are now summarized on my website (http://user.keio.ac.jp/~kawahara/IPAcard.html). Together with my colleagues, we have published a paper on IPA cards, and are currently working to publish the second edition of IPA cards accompanied by a booklet which significantly expands on the above-mentioned paper. As for the MRI videos, I have expanded on my resource page so as to include more videos that can be used for phonetic/English teaching（http://user.keio.ac.jp/~kawahara/sanseido.html）. This website is open to anybody who is interested in using these materials for their teaching (or self-leaning for that matter). The MRI materials are currently being used not only for teaching but also for research. Some of the results are to be presented at some upcoming international conferences (although we are not sure if/when the conferences are actually to be held due to the current social situation). We are running perception experiments based on these MRI recordings, and we are hoping to publish the results in an internationally renowned journal.
