本研究では、西表島に生息するハナサキガエル類の保全生態学的研究として、繁殖地におけるオオハナサキガエル（Odorrana supranarina）の出現頻度の周期変動の把握、コガタハナサキガエル（O. utsunomiyaorum）の繁殖場所と繁殖期の特定、ハナサキガエル類の捕食者の種類と相対的密度などを調査してきた。本報告書では、オオハナサキガエルの繁殖地に出現する捕食者の種類について記載する。12時間毎に繁殖地を自動撮影するタイムラプスカメラ3台と赤外線センサーで動物を捕捉して自動撮影するセンサーカメラ4台をオオハナサキガエルの繁殖地に設置した。回収した画像から種の同定を行った。本研究では2010年3月30日から2019年10月9日までのタイムラプスカメラの画像とセンサーカメラの動画を分析した。その結果、鳥類はカンムリワシ（Spilornis cheela）、ズグロミソゴイ（Gorsachius melanolophus）、ゴイサギ（Nycticorax nycticorax）、オオクイナ（Rallina eurizonoides）、シロハラクイナ（Amaurornis phoenicurus）、オサハシブトガラス（Corvus macrorhynchos osai）および種名の分からないハト類と小型鳥類が記録された。爬虫類ではイシガキトカゲ（Plestiodon stimpsonii）、サキシマハブ（Protobothrops elegans）、サキシマアオヘビ（Cycophiops semicarinatus）、ヤエヤマヒバァ（Hebius ishigakiensis）、種名の判定できない２個体のヘビを確認した。ほ乳類ではクマネズミ（Rattus rattus）、イリオモテヤマネコ（Prionailurus bengalensis iriomotensis）、リュウキュウイノシシ（Sus scrofa riukiuanus）が記録された。これらの動物のうち、オオハナサキガエルの潜在的な捕食者となり得るのは、カンムリワシ、ズグロミソゴイ、ゴイサギ、オサハシブトガラス、サキシマハブ、ヤエヤマヒバァ、イリオモテヤマネコ、リュウキュウイノシシと推定された。また、実際にオオハナサキガエルを捕食する映像が記録されたのはカンムリワシとズグロミソゴイの２種のみであった。 Greater tip-nosed frog （Odorrana supranarina）is an endangered and endemic to Iriomote Island, Japan. I attempted to reveal the potential predators of this species using three time-lapse cameras and four infrared sensor video cameras. As results, three species of mammals (Prionailurus bengalensis iriomotensis, Sus scrofa riukiuanus, Rattus rattus), five species of birds (Spilornis cheela, Gorsachius melanolophus, Nycticorax nycticorax, Rallina eurizonoides, Amaurornis phoenicurus, Corvus macrorhynchos osai) and three species of snakes (Protobothrops elegans, Cycophiops semicarinatus, Hebius ishigakiensis) were recorded. Moreover, the scenes where O. supranarina was eaten by Crested serpent eagle (Spilornis cheela) or Iriomote wild cat (Prionailurus bengalensis iriomotensis) were recorded by the infrared sensor video cameras. These results indicate that these two species are actual predators of O. supranarina.
