• Note (General): type:text; 2018年に二分冊（『マックス・ヴェーバー全集（MWG）』第一部7巻および第一部12巻）で出版された、従来一冊にまとめられていたヴェーバー科学論を全集編纂と内容の観点から検討した。その際に『科学論集』(WL)解体の正当性と全集の成立史の検討のため、トリーア大学(Universität Trier)にあるFriedrich-Tenbruck-Archivでテンブルックの遺稿、バイエルン科学アカデミー内部のMWG主編集室とコンスタンツ大学社会科学文庫(Sozialwissenschaftliches Archiv)のホルスト・バイアーの遺稿を調査した。 MWGの初代編集委員はJ・ヴィンケルマン、W・モムゼン、W・シュルフター、マM・R・レプジウス、H・バイアーであり、この中でプロジェクトを立ち上げ、出版社(J.C.B. Mohr)と交渉し、政界の支援も取り付けたのはバイアーであった。全集プロジェクトを立ち上げる最大の動機となったのは、フランクフルト学派に扇動されたと見られる学生運動に対する危機感である。よく想定されるようにMWGのイデオロギー上の敵手は当時の東独の『マルクス・エンゲルス全集』ではなく、西独のマルクス主義であった。ヴェーバーの意向の編纂方針において激しく対立していたヴィンケルマンとモムゼンの両者がともに編集委員になれたのはバイアーの調整能力のためとされている。 全集プロジェクト立ち上げ当時、WLはヴェーバーの業績を理解する鍵とされており、MWG I/7, I/12はバイヤーの担当とされていた。そのキー概念とされた現実科学Wirklichkeitswissenschaftという概念を中心的に扱ったのがバイヤーの未公刊に終わった教授資格論文Von der Erkenntnistheorie zur Wirklichkeitswissenschaftである。結局、G・ヴァーグナーとJ・ヴァイスの手で公刊されたMWG I/7, I/12が当初のバイヤーの構想からいかに隔たったものになったか、資料を通じ手明らかにし、それによりドイツのヴェーバー研究における現実科学概念の意義の変化を今後の追求課題としたい。 副テーマであった行為と時間についてはオーストリア社会学会でデジタル化と時間の希少性について報告を行い、Soziologie heuteに掲載された。 Last year, I analyzed the collected works of Max Weber's methodological writings (Gesammelte Aufsaetze zur Wissenschaftslehre = WL) which were published in 2018 in two volumes (Max Weber-Gesamtausgabe = MWG, I/7, I/12). I visited the Friedrich Tenbruck Archive at the University of Trier, the MWG Workplace in the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and the Sozialwissenschaftliches Archive at the University of Constance in order to research the manuscripts of Friedrich Tenbruck and Horst Baier. I investigated the genesis of the MWG and the legitimacy of the division of WL into two volumes. Johannes Winckelmann, Wolfgang Mommsen, Wolfgang Schluchter, M.Rainer Lepsius, and Horst Baier belonged to the first editorial board of the MWG. It was Baier who organized the editing project, negotiated the MWG with the publisher (J.C.B. Mohr), and acquired the support of politicians. Confronted with the student revolt of 1968, presumably inspired by the Frankfurt School (especially Herbert Marcuse), Baier was motivated to reinforce the liberal tradition of German social sciences. Thus the ideological counterpart of the MWG is not the Marx Engels Gesamtausgabe (MEGA) of East Germany but the Marxism of West Germany. To his credit, Baier also managed to get two hostile academics on board – Winckelmann and Mommsen. Along with the prominent Weberian scholars F. Tenbruck and W. Hennis, Mommsen aggressively criticized Winckelmann (who had edited Economy and Society and other collected papers by Weber). They had personal conflicts as well. Without Baier and his talent as coordinator, it would have been impossible for them all to work together on the same team. The start of the editing project of the MWG WL was seen as key to understanding the whole work by Max Weber. Baier was the designated volume editor for the MWG I/7 and I/12. He addressed the science of concrete reality (Wirklichkeitswissenschaft) in his unpublished post-doctoral thesis Von der Erkenntnistheorie zur Wirklichkeitswissenschaft. He could not, however, fully accomplish the task of editing and publishing the entire MWG. I/7 and I/12 were finally edited by G. Wagner and J. Weiß. My next research question will historically analyze the manuscripts to reveal how different the published version of MWG I/7 and I/12 was from Baier's original plan and how the legacy of the science of concrete reality has changed in German Weberian research. In regard to the second research topic on action and time, I made a presentation on digitalization and scarcity that was published in Soziologie heute (2020/01).
