• Note (General): type:text; 1930年代の上海では数多くのすぐれた映画が製作され、中国国産映画の「黄金時代」とも称されている。本研究は、1930年代の上海映画が、後の時代の中国国内の映画のみならず、台湾や香港の映画製作にどのような影響を与えたのかを考察するものである。 本課題での2年目にあたる2019年度は、まず、1930年代上海映画の代表的監督である孫瑜の、1950年代の映画製作について考察を進めた。毛沢東に名指し批判された『武訓伝』（1950年）を、批判キャンペーンの文脈からではなく、1930年代からの映画製作の連続性という視点から再検討した。1930年代のいわゆる「左翼映画」でよく使われていた手法が『武訓伝』でも使用されていることを明らかにし、この成果は『東方学』第139輯（東方学会、2020年1月／査読あり）に「映像から見た『武訓伝』——孫瑜監督の創作スタイルを手がかりとして——」としてまとめ発表した。また、同じく孫瑜監督の『乗風破浪』（1957年）に見られる1930年代のスポーツ映画からの影響や、同時期にスポーツ映画の名作『女籃五号』（1957年）を監督した謝晋と孫瑜の影響関係についても考察を進めた。この成果は、当初、中国映画史年会にて発表予定であったが、2019年10月の中華人民共和国建国70年記念行事との兼ね合いで開催時期が前倒しされたこともあり、発表することができなかった。別の機会に口頭発表し、論文としてまとめていきたい。 次に、1930年代上海映画の台湾への影響についても、昨年度に引き続き考察を進めた。四方田犬彦氏がいくつかの著作の中で言及している、ローカルシネマ・ナショナルシネマ・ニューウェーブというアジア映画によく見られる歴史的展開に着想を得て、1930年代上海と1960年代台湾の状況について、類似性のある物語構造や映像作りが出現した背景について研究を進めた。なお、当初は香港にて資料調査等を行う予定であったが、香港情勢の緊迫化により回避し、台湾の国家電影中心での資料収集等に変更した。 Many excellent movies were produced in 1930s Shanghai, a period frequently referred to as a "Golden Age" of domestically-produced film in mainland China. This study examines how the 1930s Shanghai cinema subsequently influenced film production in mainland China, as well as in Taiwan and Hong Kong. In AY 2019, the second year of this project, I at first explored the films made in the 1950s by Sun Yu, one of the greatest directors of 1930s Shanghai cinema. In particular, I reevaluated "The Life of Wu Xun"(1950), which at that time was criticized by Mao Zedong. However, my re-evaluation was placed not in the context of that criticism campaign, but from the perspective of continuity from Sun Yu's filmmaking of the 1930s. I clarified that the techniques often used in so-called 'left wing cinema' in the 1930s were also used in "The Life of Wu Xun" and published the results of this study in "Toho Gaku" Vol. 139 (Toho Gakkai, January 2020 / refereed) under the title 'The Life of Wu Hsün as seen from its screen images: With reference to the creative style of the director Sun Yü'. In addition, I examined the influence of sports cinema in the 1930s, as also seen in Sun Yu's "Brave the Wind and Waves" (1957), and the nature of the mutual influence between Sun Yu and Xie Jin, who in the same year was directing the popular sports movie "Basketball player No.5"(1957). I originally planned to present these research results at the Chinese Film History Annual Conference in Changchun China, but was unable to make my presentation at the conference following a change to the original conference schedule in connection with the ceremonial events for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. I intend to make an oral presentation on another occasion and summarize the presentation content as a dissertation. After the above study, I continued the research I conducted in the previous academic year into the influence of 1930s Shanghai cinema on the cinema of Taiwan. Inspired by the idea, as mentioned by Inuhiko Yomota in several publications, that the historical development of Asian films is often characterized as a sequential development from Local Cinema through to National Cinema and then the New Wave, I explored the similarity between 1930s Shanghai cinema and 1960s Taiwan cinema with a focus on similarities in story structure and cinematography techniques. Initially, I was planning to conduct a materials survey in Hong Kong. However, a decision was taken to avoid the tension growing in Hong Kong since June 2019, and a material survey was instead conducted in Taiwan, principally at the Taiwan Film Institute in Taipei.
