• Note (General): type:text; 労働市場におけるキャリアのトレンドについて検討を行った。分析のために、2015年に行われた社会階層と社会移動全国調査データを用いて検討を行った。日本の労働市場における長期安定雇用をめぐっては、これまでにも経済学や社会学などで多くの議論がなされている。1990年代以降、非正規雇用が増加し、労働市場の柔軟性が高まったと言われるが、正規雇用の特定企業への長期勤続の傾向は、あまり大きな変化が見られないとも指摘されている。その一方、長期間にわたる時系列データを駆使して、転職のトレンドについて十分な検討を行った研究はあまり多くない。本研究はそのような状況を鑑み、人々の管理職昇進に注目して、転職がどのような影響を及ぼすか検討を行った。さらに、男女に分けた分析を行った。男性については、中小企業と大企業で管理職の昇進パターンが大きく異なることが分かった。中小企業の場合、転職回数は管理職昇進を抑制することはなかったが、大企業では、企業間移動の経験は、管理職への昇進にネガティブな影響を及ぼすことが分かった。男女間の格差に注目すると、学歴と企業規模の影響が男女で有意に異なることが分かった。学歴については、大学を有名大学と非有名大学に分けて分析を行ったところ、男性では有名大学への進学は、そうでない大学よりも管理職昇進ハザードを有意に高めるが、女性にはそうした傾向が見られなかった。企業規模についても、大企業に勤務する人ほど管理職昇進ハザードが高いが、女性ではそうした傾向が認められなかった。このようなパターンについて、時系列比較を行ったが、大きな変化は認められなかった。 This project aims to explore the trends in career mobility across workers in the labor market in Japan. To analyze this trend, we used the 2015 Social Stratification and Mobility Survey in Japan. There is much debate across economists and sociologists over the continuity of long-term employment in Japan. Since the 1990s, we have seen the growth in the number of non-regular workers and the increased flexibility in labor markets. Meanwhile, there seems to be no change in the patterns of how regular workers are employed in a Japanese organization. Given this situation, we focused on the transition into managerial positions across workers in Japan, and how moving across firms influences the hazard rate of becoming a manager in Japan. We made a further analysis on the gender inequality in attaining a managerial position. One of the findings is that the effect of changing employers on managerial position differ by firm size. Workers in the small firm have no significant disadvantage in becoming a manager even if they change an employer. Meanwhile, we found this disadvantage across workers in a large firm. Concerning the gender disparity, the effects of education and firm size on the transition into managerial positions differ by gender. Men benefited from having a higher education and employment in a large firm, but women did not. The pattern of gender disparity persisted over time.
