• Note (General): type:text; 今日、母国を離れて暮らすディアスポラのメディア環境は大きく変化している。情報技術の発達により、様々なメディア・コンテンツや情報がますます国境を超えて流通しやすくなっているためである。これによって、特に母国メディアへの接近が容易になり、ディアスポラの母国やホスト社会との関係に大きな影響をもたらしている。本研究の代表者と分担者はこれまで、韓国系ディアスポラの母国メディア利用について、北米や南米、ヨーロッパのいくつかの都市で調査を行い、その成果を発表してきた。本研究では、日本にいる韓国および中国出身者が対象である。特に昨年度は中国出身の人々が、日本に暮らしながらどのようなメディア利用の行動を行っていいるのか、そしてその利用の背景にある動機や要因は何であるのか、その利用によってどのような影響を受けているのかに焦点を当てた。日本の主流メディアにおける中国および中国人の表象は、必ずしも友好的とはいえない部分があり、このようなホスト社会メディアの状況は、中国出身者の母国メディア利用をさらに助長する可能性がある点に特に注目した。募集型Web調査により、３８３名に調査を行ったところ、在日中国出身者の母国メディア利用は特にWechatやWeiboなどのソーシャルメディアを中心に非常に高い水準で行われており、日本のメディアに関しては、漫画やアニメ、音楽、映画などのエンタテインメントメディアが少し利用されているだけで、情報系メディアはほとんど見られていないことが明らかにされた。また、予想していたとおり、日本のマスメディアにおける中国および中国人表象が、中国および中国人に対して友好的でないという強い認識が広く共有されていた。自由回答形式で尋ねた項目でも、日本のマスメディアにおける中国の取り上げ方に対する強い不満が伺える。今後さらに詳しい分析を進めていきながら、韓国出身者へと対象を広げていき、中韓の比較を通じて、ホスト社会メディアと母国メディアの利用の関係性およびその影響について考察していきたい。 Today, the media environment of Diaspora living away from their home country is changing drastically. This is because the development of information technology has made it easier for a variety of media contents and information to be distributed across national borders. This has made it especially easy to approach the homeland media and has had a great impact on Diaspora's relationship with the home country and host society. The researchers have conducted many interviews on the use of the homeland media of the Korean diaspora in several cities in North America, South America, and Europe, and have published the results. In this study, people from Korea and China in Japan were surveyed. In particular, we focused on what kind of media use behavior people from China are engaging in while living in Japan, what are the motives and factors behind the use, and how they are affected by the media use. The representations of China and Chinese people in Japan's mainstream media are not necessarily friendly, and this situation of host society media may further encourage the use of homeland media by the Chinese diasporas in Japan. According to the survey, 383 Chinese respondents in Japan use their homeland media at a very high level, especially social media such as WeChat and Weibo. Also, as expected, there was a strong perception that the representations of China and Chinese people in the Japanese mass media were not friendly to them. The questions asked in an open-ended format also show strong dissatisfaction with the way China was featured in the Japanese mass media. By conducting further analysis and expanding the scope to those from South Korea, we would like to examine the relationship between host society media and homeland media use and its impact through comparison between China and South Korea.
