本研究では、企業の価格設定についての新たなフィリップス曲線を提示することを研究目的とする。近年、ミクロ・データによって企業の価格改定についての詳しいメカニズムが明らかになっている。例えばBroda and Weinstein (2010)、Nakamura and Steinsson (2012)は、多くの製品について、製品が市場から退出するまで価格が投入価格で据え置かれていることを指摘している。この事実は、製品の入れ替わり率、市場投入時の価格、及びその後の価格の据え置きが価格形成に重要な役割を担っていることを示している。本研究では、こうした価格設定についての新しい事実を明示的に取り込んだ理論モデルを構築することを目的としている。研究では、サーチモデルを基礎にした新たなフィリップス曲線の構築を行うことができた。また、日本の製品価格の推移について、Nikkeiデータを用いて解明を行うことができた。加えて、理論モデルの推計・カリブレーションを行い、構築したモデルが日本のデータ特性を上手く再現することができることを示した。 Using the product-level micro data, we document new stylized facts about product cycles generated by product entry and exit, and price cycles describing price behaviors during product cycles. To show the roles of product cycles and price cycles in the macroeconomy, we develop a new model of price dynamics. Through a frictional product market with search and matching frictions, an endogenous product cycle is accompanied by a price cycle. Our model generates a generalized version of the Phillips curve which takes into account of product and price cycles, and nests the New Keynesian Phillips curve as a special case. Calibrated to the Japanese product-level data, the model fits well to the stylized facts about correlations among product entry, number of products, matching probability, demand, and price.
