• Note (General): type:text; 魚類の認知能力の研究は、近年注目されており、魚類が高度な認知能力を備えていることが明らかにされつつある。本研究では、魚類の生活環境および社会環境に対する認知能力についての研究を進めてきた。 生活環境の認知能力については、ヨシノボリを対象として、生活環境の清掃行動について検討した。実験では、１尾のヨシノボリを異物をいれた隠れ家のある水槽に導入して、隠れ家内の異物の除去行動の様子を撮影した映像から観察した。その結果、ヨシノボリは隠れ家の中にある異物を除去する行動をとることが明らかにされた。本実験に用いたヨシノボリは未成熟な状態であり、この除去行動は繁殖行動とは異なるものであると考えられる。これまでに、魚類の生活環境の清掃行動について報告した研究はいずれも繁殖期の繁殖行動である。一方で、本研究によって非繁殖期にも清掃行動が行われることが確かめられ、この様な行動はヒトが行う掃除活動と類似した認知機構であると考えられる。 社会環境に対する認知能力では、メダカおよびキンギョを用いて恐怖情動の伝染および摂餌情動の伝染について検討した。メダカを用いた情動伝染の検討では、隣の水槽の中でモデル魚に手網による追尾処理を施し、それを観察している実験魚の行動特性を調べた。実験の結果、追尾処理を観察した魚は、対照区の魚と比べて警戒反応が強く現れていた。摂餌情動の伝染では、同様の水槽を用いて、隣の水槽でモデル魚の摂餌行動を観察させて、実験魚の摂餌行動の促進効果を検討した。その結果、モデル魚の摂餌行動がある実験区では、観察魚の摂餌行動が促進される傾向がみられた。これらのことから、メダカは他個体の恐怖経験や摂餌行動の観察を通じて、観察魚に恐怖情動や摂餌情動が伝染する可能性が示唆された。このような社会環境での情動伝染はヒトにもみられることから、魚類がヒトの様な認知能力を備えていると考えられる。 Cognitive ability of fish is focused on various researcher. Some studies found that fish equip advanced cognition like human. The present study investigated the fish cognition for living environment and conspecific mates. For study of cognition for living environment, nest cleaning behavior of freshwater goby was investigated. A single fish was introduced into experimental tank set a shelter with debris, and the removing behavior was observed by video recording. As the result, fish demonstrated to remove debris from the shelter. Fish used in the experiment was immature stage, and thus the nest cleaning behavior was considered as cleaning behavior irrespective of breeding behavior. Nest cleaning behavior in ordinary living environment was not found in fish. Such behavior would be similar with house cleaning behavior of human. Emotional transfer for alertness and feeding motivation in medaka and goldfish was investigated for cognition of conspecific mates. Model fish and observer fish for medaka was set in each area of tank separated by transparent board. Then, observer fish was provided observation trials of model avoidance behavior from net chasing. After the observation, alertness of observer fish was individually investigated in experimental tank. Observer fish demonstrated more alertness than control fish. This means that alertness of fish was transferred by observation of model's avoidance behavior. Emotional transfer of feeding motivation was investigated by similar experiment setup. In the experiment, observer fish observed feeding behavior of model fish, and then the feeding motivation of observer fish was compared with control fish. As the result, observer fish demonstrated the higher feeding behavior to pellets than control. These results suggest that emotion such as alertness and feeding motivation in fish could be transferred by observation of conspecific mates behavior.
