• Note (General): type:text; 筆者らは、フロログルシノール（PG）を1,2-ペンタンジオールに溶解し、180 ℃で6 h加熱すると、隣接する分子間で脱水反応が進行し、半値幅30 nmのシャープな蛍光ピークを有するカーボンドット（PG-CDs）が得られることを見出した。そこで、本研究では、PG-CDsと類似した脱水反応の進行が予想される4,6-ジアミノレソルシノール二塩酸塩（DAR）からカーボンドット（DAR-CDs）を合成し、PG-CDsとDAR-CDsの蛍光特性を比較検討した。TEM観察によると、PG-CDsおよびDAR-CDsの平均粒子径はそれぞれ1.7±0.5 nmおよび2.2±0.7 nmであり、グラフェンの（100）面間隔に対応する格子縞が見られた。PG-CDsおよびDAR-CDsのエタノール分散液は、365 nm UV照射下ではそれぞれ青色および赤色に発光した。HOMO-LUMO間の電子遷移に帰属されるシャープな蛍光ピークが、PG-CDsでは481 nmに、DAR-CDsでは593 nmに観測された。それぞれの相対蛍光量子収率は64%および31%であった。Ramanスペクトルには、グラフェンの格子欠陥に起因するDバンドとグラフェンの格子振動に起因するGバンドが見られた。両者の強度比からDAR-CDsの方がグラフェン構造により多くの欠陥を有することがわかった。DAR-CDsのXPSスペクトルのN 1sピークは、-NH-とNH2に帰属されるピークから構成され、ピーク面積比より窒素の多くがNH2基として導入されたことがわかった。密度汎関数法によってPGとDARの脱水縮合した分子の吸収スペクトルを計算した。その結果、NH2基の導入によりHOMO-LUMO間の電子遷移に帰属される吸収ピークがレッドシフトすることがわかった。以上より、蛍光ピークのレッドシフトはDAR-CDsの量子サイズ効果およびNH2基の導入に起因すると考えられる。DAR-CDsの方がPG-CDsに比べて、蛍光量子収率が低い理由は、NH2基の脱水素反応による窒素の導入により、グラフェン構造に欠陥が形成されたためと考えられる。 We found that when phloroglucinol (PG) was dissolved in 1,2-pentanediol and heated at 180 ℃ for 6 h, a dehydration reaction proceeded between adjacent molecules to obtain the carbon dots (PG-CDs) which show a sharp fluorescence peak with a half width of 30 nm. In this study, carbon dots (DAR-CDs) were synthesized from 4,6-diaminoresorcinol dihydrochloride (DAR). DAR is expected to form CDs with narrow-band fluorescence by a dehydration reaction similar to PG. The fluorescence properties of PG-CDs and DAR-CDs were compared and investigated. According to TEM observation, the average particle sizes of PG-CDs and DAR-CDs were 1.7±0.5 and 2.2±0.7 nm, respectively. Both CDs showed the lattice fringe corresponding to (100) lattice spacing of graphene. PG-CDs and DAR-CDs dispersions in ethanol displayed blue and red emission, respectively, under UV light. The emission spectra of PG-CDs and DAR-CDs show a sharp emission peak at 481 and 593 nm with relative photoluminescence quantum yield of 64 and 31%, respectively. The emission peak is attributed to the HOMO-LUMO transition. In Raman spectra, the D band corresponding to the defects of the graphene structure, and the G band corresponding to the in-plane motion of carbon atoms were observed. The intensity ratio of these bands indicates that DAR-CDs have more defects in the graphene structure. The N 1s XPS spectrum of DAR-CDs was composed of two peaks corresponding to -NH- and -NH2. The peak area ratio indicates that most of the nitrogen were introduced as NH2. The absorption spectra of dehydrated condensed molecules of PG and DAR were calculated by the density functional theoretical calculation. The calculated absorption peak attributed to the HOMO-LUMO transition showed a red shift when NH2 was introduced in the structure. In conclusion, the red shift of the emission peak of DAR-CDs can be attributed to the quantum size effect and the introduced NH2. The lower quantum yield of DAR-CDs may be due to the defects in the graphene structure, formed by the dehydrogenation of NH2.
