本研究では、小説の〈書きかえ〉を、作家が評価体系にテクストを適合させる行為としてとらえ、評価体系が作動する様相を考察した。計画では、ジェンダー規範を中心にしていたが、実際にはテーマが広がった。例えば、獅子文六の新聞小説について、原稿の書きかえを調査し、男女の役割だけでなく、戦後の日米関係、「混血児」問題などについて、獅子がどのような配慮をしていたかを明らかにできた。他にも、瀬戸内寂聴について、伝記小説『田村俊子』が単行本化の際にどのように書き換えられたのかを調査し、また、周囲の作家の小説とどのような関係を持っていたのかを明らかにした。 In this study, the rewriting of a novel is regarded as an act of the writer adapting the text to the evaluation system, and the aspect of the evaluation system working is considered. The plan focused on gender norms, but in reality the theme has expanded. For example, by investigating manuscript for the newspaper novel of Shishi Bunroku, it is clarified what kind of consideration Shishi had regarding not only the roles of men and women, but also the postwar US-Japan relations and the "mixed-race child" problem. In addition, I investigated how the biographical novel "Toshiko Tamura" by Jakucho Setouchi was rewritten when it was made into a book, and clarified what kind of relationship it had with the novels of surrounding writers.
