• Note (General): type:text; 雪舟および雪舟派の潑墨山水図の調査を18件実施した。 山口県立美術館では、雪舟に関する展覧会の閲覧に加え、雪舟筆「山水図」（重要文化財）を筆頭に、人物画等をあわせて5点、また山口県立萩美術館浦上記念館において、菊屋家所蔵の雪舟筆「山水図」１件を、特別観覧させていただいた。雪舟の筆法や墨色を間近に観察し、また作品を調査しながらの、雪舟研究者との意見交換によって、今後の課題など、多くの示唆を得られた。 また岡山県立美術館では、雪舟筆「玉澗様山水図」（重要文化財）に加え、周徳など雪舟派の作品、雪村筆「瀟湘八景図屏風」をあわせて10件を、特別観覧させていただいた。岡山県立美術館の作品調査では、正木美術館で実施した周徳の山水図2件の特別観覧の調査結果をもとに、比較検討する機会を得られた。 周徳については、まだ伝記や印、様式等の研究が不十分であり、何を基準作とするかも十分に議論されていない。周徳という一人の画僧の作品について、今回数点の作品を閲覧調査したが、印は必ずしも一致しないことがわかった。一方で、共通する筆致の特徴を持つ作品もあった。それらを中心に、様式的な特徴や基準作を検討することが可能だろう。 また雪舟筆「山水図」（慶應義塾（センチュリー赤尾コレクション）の分析を深めるための、雪舟画がもつ特徴についても示唆を得た。写真ではわからない、筆線のなかの点描などの細部表現への気づきがあった。またさまざまな潑墨山水図に共通する酒旗や船等のモチーフや墨色等、比較材料となる資料が得られた。 細かな分析はこれからだが、今年秋のミュージアム・コモンズでの展覧会で、デジタル画像を用いながら、その分析の成果を公開する予定である。またそれぞれの墨の表現が、実際にどのような工程で生み出されているか、現在の材料であっても、一度検討する必要性があるだろう。 A survey of Sesshu and the Sesshu school's sprightly ink landscape paintings was conducted. At Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum, in addition to viewing an exhibition on Sesshu, I had a special viewing of five paintings, including Taoist paintings of people, led by "Landscape" (Important Cultural Property) by Sesshu. I had a special viewing of one "Landscape" by Sesshu owned by the Kikuya family at Yamaguchi Prefectural Hagi Uragami Museum too. The close observation of Sesshu's brush strokes and ink colors, as well as the exchange of opinions with Sesshu researchers while examining his works, provided me with many suggestions for future issues to be addressed. At Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art, I had a special viewing of 10 works by Sesshu and his pupils, including "Landscape in the Yujian Style" (Important Cultural Property) by Sesshu, and folding screens of " Eight Views of Xiao Xiang" by Sesson. In addition, The survey of works at Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art provided an opportunity to compare and contrast the results of the survey of two special viewing of Shūtoku's landscapes conducted at Masaki Art Museum. Regarding a monk named Shūtoku, there is still insufficient research on his biography, seals, style, etc., and what constitutes a standard work has not yet been discussed enough. I have examined several works by Shūtoku, and found that the seals do not match. However, there were some works that shared the same brush strokes, so it may be possible to examine stylistic characteristics and the establishment of a standard work by focusing on these works. I also obtained suggestions on the characteristics of Sesshu's paintings to deepen my analysis of "Landscapes" by Sesshu (Keio University (Century Akao Collection)). I noticed dotted strokes in the brush lines that could not be seen in the photograph. I also obtained materials for comparing motifs such as sake flags and ships, which are common to various types of sprightly ink landscape paintings, as well as ink colors. Detailed analysis is still in progress, but I plan to present the results of our analysis using digital images at this year's fall exhibition. It will also be necessary to examine the actual process by which each ink expression is produced, even with the current materials.
