IT技術の発展は２０世紀後半から続く大きな社会変革の基となっている。こうした技術的な変化は日常生活における利便性の向上に加えて、企業活動のあり方をも根本的に変え始めている。いわゆるスマートフォンの発明、発売から始まった変化は欧米を中心としたプラットフォームビジネスの開花をもたらし、GAFAMと呼ばれるアメリカを中心とした巨大企業を発達させ、日本の企業はことごとくその後塵を拝する「失われた30年」に甘んじてきた。ところがスマートフォンに代わるさらなるIT技術の革新がここ数年論じられるようになってきた。それがメタバースと呼ばれる三次元の空間的な仮想現実の世界である。メタバースが日常世界に入り込むにはまだ時間がかかるし、それにはスマートグラスと呼ばれるゴーグル型のウエアラブルなハードウエアの進化が必要条件となるのであるが、こうしたメタバースがもたらす現実と仮想現実の交錯、およびそれによってもたらされる日常の現実生活がどのような変化に見舞われるのかは、今からさまざまな可能性の検討と予想される問題や課題を見極めておく必要がある。今回の研究では日本国内においてメタバースに直接的、間接的に関わる技術を開発している現場を訪れ、関係者から話を聞くとともに、その萌芽的な技術が社会規範や企業活動の規範、働き方の規範にどのような影響を与えるかを考察する貴重な機会が与えられた。 Development of IT technology has changed the human living condition since late 20th century. This historical change innevitably influenced the activities of corporation, too. This study is aiming at recognizing and predicting the current change and the future change that IT technology will do, and considering the normative change that covers not only global, societal and organizational setting. In order to establish a foundational knowledge of this field, I focused on the the recent technology of Web 3.0 and metaverse. This technologies are still its infancy stage but will make the future world different. I visited several Japanese corporations and found still rudimentary but promising future technologies that they are are developing. I would like to continue to study about these new technologies and will consider the future ethics and normative framework to order the world where metaverse and universe will be coexist haremoniously.
