• Note (General): type:text; 言語という高次な認知機能を獲得するためには，文法構造，特に階層的構造の理解と学習，そして統計的学習の能力が必須となる。本研究ではこれら２つの言語獲得に関与する学習能力の脳内機構を，乳幼児計測に適する機能的近赤外分光法(fNIRS)を用いて明らかにすることを目的とする。このために本研究は，新生児と6－7ヶ月児が（実験１）音の階層構造の学習と規則適用，（実験２）音韻の統計学習と適用をしている際の脳活動を計測し，その脳内機構を検討する。実験１，２ともに新生児、６－７ヶ月児を対象に行うことができ、解析も完了した。紙幅の関係で実験１の結果のみ述べる。 ヒトは，主語Aがくればその後に何Xが挿入されていても動詞Bが来る階層性AXBを理解する。実験１はこのような階層性をピッチ形状の異なる音声（トーン）単位で表現した刺激を5分呈示することで規則学習を行い，その後に規則刺激と規則逸脱刺激に対する脳反応を計測することで，規則学習と処理に関わる脳内機構を検討した。実験の結果、６－７ヶ月児は逸脱刺激に特異的な脳反応を左の縁上回，聴覚野近傍，一部左下前頭部（ブローカ野）で示した。これらは約5分で規則学習が成立し，規則逸脱の判断が可能であったことを示す。かつ，その脳内機構は先行研究で報告された成人とほぼ類似したパタンであった。一方で、新生児は同様に逸脱刺激に対して強い反応を示したものの、その脳部位は左の前頭極、背外側前頭前野であった。それら前頭部は刺激学習中の脳機能結合の解析によると、左縁上回、両側頭部への脳機能結合が強くみられた。学習時の脳機能結合がどのように学習に関連していたかを検討するために、刺激逸脱に強く反応した前頭活動と学習時の脳機能結合の相関を解析した所、学習熟達度と左前頭－左縁上回－左上側頭回の脳機能結合の有意な強い関係性が示された。この回路により学習が促進されると考えられる。 Language is a higher cognitive ability unique to human. In order to acquire such language competence, one needs an ability to learn hierarchy structure of a grammar and statistical distribution to extract phonological and semantic information. The present study aims to uncover cerebral basis of these two types of learning system in infants by applying infant-friendly measurement instrument, functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS). To this end, we planned to carry out two fNIRS experiments; 1) Experiment 1 on learning mechanism of hierarchy structures (AXB, CXD non-adjacent dependency grammar) and 2) Experiment 2 on statistical learning of phonemes. The study measures hemodynamic activation and functional connectivity among different brain regions in neonates and 6–7-month-old infants. We have completed 2 experiments as planned, but here we summarize the results of the experiment 1 due to the limited space. Our results showed infants' successful learning of the grammatical rule consisted of different types of tones such as AXB and CXD by only 5 minutes exposure of stimuli for both neonates and 6–7-month-old infants. Specifically, they showed stronger brain response to the incorrect stimulus in contrast to weak response to the correct rule. 6–7-month-old infants showed statistically significant responses in supra marginal gyrus (SMG), superior temporal gyrus (STG) and inferior frontal gyrus on the left side. As these responses were comparable to those in adults, 6–7-month-old infants were suggested to have matured language network to learn complicated grammatical rule. On the other hand, neonates' stronger response to the incorrect rule were from the left frontal area including frontopolar and dorso-lateral-frontal areas, showing difference from the 6–7-month-old's pattern. Further analyses revealed strong functional connectivity forming a network between the frontal area and bilateral temporal areas during the learning period in neonates. Furthermore, we have identified a particular network connecting from the left frontal area and the left temporal area including SMG and STG, that played a crucial role in the learning process of artificial grammar rule.
