経営環境が不確実性を増す中で改善活動を継続していくことは、企業の競争力を強化していくために大切である。特に生産企業では、品質・コスト・納期の競争力を高め、顧客ニーズに対応する柔軟性を強化するために、改善活動は重要な役割を果たしている。一方で改善活動を継続すると徐々にその効果は逓減し、活動が停滞する事例が多くみられる。本研究では、長期的に改善活動を継続している生産企業の事例研究を通じて、改善活動の継続を支援するマネジメント要因について、経営理念・企業文化・人材育成・SCM・DXなどの観点から考察している。本年度は、岡山県に工場を有する食品機械メーカー、同じく化粧品メーカー、長野県に本社のある電子部品メーカーを対象として、オンラインによるフィールドワーク、公刊資料などを活用した企業調査等を行った。そこから、改善活動における経営理念の重要性、改善活動を継続する上での組織体制、マネジメント・スタッフと現場のコミュニケーション、デジタルツールを用いた改善活動のサポートなどについて実務上有効な示唆を整理し、主な内容を国際学会での発表論文およびケース教材としてまとめ、研究成果として公刊した。 Continuous Kaizen Activity is essential for enhancing competitive edge of manufacturing firms, especially in today's uncertain environment, in terms of satisfying customer needs in quality, cost, and delivery. On the other hand, cumulative effect tends to saturate in the long run, often resulting in stagnating period. This study investigates managerial supporting factors for continuing Kaizen activities, in the scope of corporate mission, corporate culture, human resource development and empowerment, and utilization of digital tools. Through field works by online and corporate analysis on published materials of several manufacturing firms in Japan, the study derived practical notions to support continuous Kaizen activity, and major results are presented in academic conferences and published as case studies.
