Note (General): 1. バイオフィルム問題や研究の多くは細菌で議論されてきている。同じ微生物であるカビを含めた真菌は、細菌に比べると発育様式、形状、性状で大きく異なる。そのため今までほとんどバイオフィルムとして議論や研究の対象とされてこなかった。しかし、湿性環境にみる文化財のカビによる被害をマクロ・ミクロで詳細に観察すると、その発生現象、発生環境、原因カビなどから少なくとも細菌で定義されているバイオフィルムと必ずしも同一ではないが、広義に解釈するとカビによるバイオフィルムも存在することが確認できた。2. 培地を用いた水分活性Aw試験では好乾性カビであるAspergillus restrictus 、Aspergillus versicolorおよびEurotium sp.がAw0.73でも発育が認められたが、器物における相対湿度(RH)試験ではすべてのカビにおいて湿度90％を下回ると発育力が落ち始め、湿度80％以下で完全に抑制された。以上より、室内環境は湿度80％以下に保つのが望ましいが、器物に直接水分が付着すると器物の水分活性が上がり、環境湿度を抑えてもカビが発育してくる可能性もあることが明らかとなった。また、発育速度は全体的に1週間から3週間程度のため、定期的な換気や清掃で環境湿度を上げないようにすることが重要であるといえた。今回の研究は文化財の保存環境を想定して実施したが、器物によりAwおよびRHに影響をうけやすいことが確認された。また、カビの種類によっても発育の特徴が異なることから、カビ被害が生じた場合はそのカビ種に応じた対策も必要と考えられた。
The biomatrix problem and studies are mainly discussed on bacteria. Though fungi are one kind of microbes and contaminate on several substrates in wet environment, they differ from other microbes in point of growth pattern, ecological characteristics, biological figures and morphological findings. Therefore, fungi have never studied and discussed on biofilm problems. According to our survey on cultural assets such as stone, wood, plastics, rubber and textile in wet environments, these materials are attacked and damaged and deteriorated by the fungi. In this review, the fungal biomatrix on cultural assets in cultural facilities is explained. The objects are to reveal the fungal growth pattern on 3 materials under the condition of each relative humidity (RH) in this study. The materials are cardboard, plasterboard and lumber in each RH, and fungal growth have been continuously observed within two months. Fungal growth was generally restricted by less than 80%RH in 3 materials and little fungi grew exceptionally under 73%RH. Spore production was observed without Fusarium sp. on all materials. When the spore amounts are compared, Cladosporium sp., Penicillium sp., Aspergillus versicolor and Chaetomium sp. have lots amount. The fungal growth activity was reduced by less than 90% RH and restricted completely by less than 80%.RH. Therefore, RH in indoor environment is desirable to keep in less than 80%RH. Cladosporium sp. and Aspergillus sp. which produce numerous spores should be needed to pay the attention in particular.
