アンドロゲン受容体シグナルの有無にかかわらず、高転移能を有する前立腺癌細胞はCCL2をより多く産生し、CCL2は前立腺癌細胞の転移能を亢進させるという悪循環が形成されている可能性が示唆された。CCL2はマクロファージの前立腺癌組織への浸潤を誘導し、マクロファージから分泌されるケモカインによってさらに前立腺癌細胞の転移能が亢進する可能性が示された。
Human prostate cancer cells with high metastatic ability can secrete more CCL2 than those with low metastatic ability and CCL2 can induce prostate cancer cell migration, regardless of the presence of the suppression of androgen/androgen receptor signal. In addition, CCL2 induce the infiltration of macrophages into prostate cancer tissue, and then chemokines secreted by infiltrated macrophages can induce prostate cancer migration.
