ダラハド湖湖底堆積物の採取と分析・フグスグル湖湖底堆積物の分析そしてその周辺の調査から、ユ-ラシア東部内陸部における間氷期・氷期の推移については以下のことが分かった。1)最終氷期(MIS2)から後氷期(完新世)にダラハド湖では氷河性堰き止め湖の形成とその決壊による大規模な洪水が発生した。2)フグスグル湖では融氷に伴う大規模な土砂移動が発生した。そして3)移行期はかなり不安定な水文地形環境であったこと示唆された。
Analytical results for lacustrine sediments in Paleolake Darkhad and Lake Hovsgol and their catchment survey reveal that : 1) gigantic floods(glacial lake outburst flood) happened in the transition interval from glacial to interglacial in Darkhad, 2) large sediment discharge into the lake was detected in Hovsgol sediments in nearly the same interval, suggesting that the transition interval was under unstable hydro-geomorphological conditions.
