Note (General): 20世紀前半における中国の食糧事情を農村経済構造との関わりから分析・考察した。その結果、1937年以前に華中・華南の沿海地域で稲作から他の作物への転作が起こっていたことが米の生産量の減少と米に対する需要の増大と米不足をもたらしていたこと、また、農村に地域間分業と連鎖的な食糧消費構造が形成されていたこと、そして、日本軍が対中国侵略戦争によって中国の食糧体系を生産面と流通面から二重に破壊し、米・小麦の収奪を当初の期待どおりには実現できなかったことを明らかにした。
