Note (General): 本研究では,過去数千年間における水文環境の変動やそれが関わる侵食環境の変動,即ち崩壊・土石流等に見られる地表の物理的応答,いわば地形システムを,グローバルな気候変動に決定的な役割を果たしてきている可能性のあるチベット高原の周縁部,風下側に相当する中国東南部やアジアモンスーン域北縁部のシベリア・バイカル湖での水文地形過程の資料解析を行うと同時にわが国の過去数千年の水文地形過程との比較検討を行い,アジアモンスーン地域において気候変動が地表の物理環境にどのような変化をもたらしたかを地形システムの応答という観点から明らかにすることを試みた.その結果以下のことが明らかになった。 1. 現在(観測時代)の水文地形過程を明らかにするためにはCs-137が有効であることが示された。1)流域における侵食量の大小が定量化できる。2)湖沼堆積物の近年における年代設定に有効である。 2. 粒度組成の変動が水文環境の変動の指示者となり得る(四川省・雲南省の湖沼,余呉湖)。1)平均粒径の変動は年間降水量の変動に対応させることが可能である。2)余呉湖では中世温暖期に多少湿潤な環境にあったが小氷期ではさらに湿潤な環境であった。 3. 物理量(密度,含水率,粒度)の変動が生物起源シリカの量を反映し,気候変動の指示者となることが示された(バイカル湖)。 4. 衛星イメージの解析から中国四川省・雲南省の湖沼流域の地形特性と水文環境(流水特性)の関係およびその季節的変動が明らかになった。
Analyses of some lake sediments show that the physical properties of the sediments are proxies of hydro-limnological environment : 1) average mineral grain size in Lake Yogo, central Japan, roughly indicates annual rainfall ; 2) coarse content in grain size distribution suggests heavy rainfall years in Pond Takidani-ike in Hokuriku district, central Japan ; 3) grain size, water content and grain density are closely related to global climatic changes in Lake Baikal (glacial periods and interglacial periods are shown in the physical properties).Physical properties of lake sediments also reflect hydro-geomorphological settings in each drainage basin ; some artificial transformations in the basin are found in the sediments from Lake Yogo. Some phenomena related to ice rafting are found in Lake Baikal sediments.
