髄芽腫の摘出標本を病理学的に検討しWnt signal pathway関連因子を解析した.その結果3例が脳腫瘍WHO分類で新たに追加された髄芽腫の亜型であることが判明した。また細胞増殖に作用するcyclin D1の免疫組織化学法による陽性7例は全例死亡しており,予後不良の傾向があることを見出した.以前の研究成果と合わせると髄芽腫においては予後良好因子として免疫組織化学によるγ-cateninが,予後不良因子としてcyclin D1の陽性所見が判明し,髄芽腫の予後を判定する上で一定の知見を得ることができた.
We performed pathological classification of primary medulloblastomas and examined molecules on the Wnt signal pathway by immunohistochemical and cytogenetic analyses. Pathologically, three patients were diagnosed with newly established subtype of medulloblastoma. Immunohistochemical cyclin D1 expression showed a trend of adverse outcome and all seven patients with cyclin D1 expression expired. On the contrary, γ-catenin expression correlated with good prognosis among the molecules analyzed. This research contributed to prognostic evaluation of medulloblastomas.
