Note (General): 本研究ではアルツハイマー病(AD)治療効果が期待される、植物由来の天然ポリフェノールの安全性および忍容性を確認することを目的とし、AD患者を対象にポリフェノール経口摂取の安全性、忍容性、代謝動態および認知機能改善効果を評価するための臨床試験を実施した。試験食品を作成し、60歳以上AD患者14名に対して投与を開始した。平成25年5月時点で、試験食品開始後の身体所見、神経学的所見、バイタルサイン、臨床検査の顕著な異常はみとめておらず、ポリフェノール経口摂取の安全性は高いものと予測される。
This study evaluated the safety and tolerability of polyphenols in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. This is a uni-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial of 48 weeks. Primary outcome measure is safety and tolerability of polyphenols. We have started polyphenol capsules administration in 14 patients. No significant adverse events have not been reported by any of the patients due to study treatment until May 2013. Oral administration of polyphenols will appearto be safe in patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
