ナノコンタクトの電気伝導度や熱的特性の測定から低温量子伝導現象を探索することを目的として、温度制御したブレークジャンクションによる金属ナノ接合の研究を行った。ニオブ細線を使った超伝導ジャンクションでは、温度制御により超伝導-常伝導のナノ接合を形成し、その性質を調べた。ジャンクションにヘリウム原子を吸着させた実験と合わせて、温度制御した単分子超伝導デバイスの研究基盤を確立することができた。
We have carried out experiments to explore anomalous phenomena in various nano-contacts with a temperature controlled break junction. In niobium superconducting junctions, normal-metal/superconductor junctions have been achieved with a heater placed in one side of the contacts. The tunnel conductance between two metallic gold electrodes is found to be influenced by absorbed helium atoms. We pursue the research of superconducting devices with molecules following these results.
