様々な物質を挟み込んだ新奇ジョセフソン接合の低温量子伝導現象を探索することを目的として、ブレークジャンクションによる超伝導接合を用いた研究を行った。ジャンクションにヘリウム原子を吸着させた測定では、接合サイズを小さくしたとき、ヘリウム原子がトンネル状態での電子輸送に影響を及ぼすことが明らかになった。ニオブ細線を使った超伝導ジャンクションの実験と合わせて、様々な物質を挟みこんだジョセフソン接合の研究を確立できる目処が立った。
We have carried out experiments to explore anomalous phenomena in various Josephson junctions with a mechanically controllable break junction technique. The tunnel conductance between two metallic gold electrodes is found to be influenced by absorbed helium atoms. In niobium superconducting junctions, anomalous behavior of difference conductance has been observed. We pursue the research of Josephson devices with molecules following these results.
