Note (General)本研究の目的は,気相トレーサーを用いて,土壌中の気液界面積を測定すること,その際に気相の流れている部分と停滞している部分を区別すること,さらに,ネットワークモデルを作成して土壌中の気液の置換過程における界面積の変化をシミュレートすることである。我々は,当初,文献等から得た情報から,ヘプタントレーサーを用いる方法を試みたが,半年間の検討の結果,ヘプタントレーサーでは,水-空気界面への界面吸着係数が小さいため,1×10^5m^<-1>以下の比界面積の測定が難しいことが明らかとなった。ところが,我々の測定したい土壌粒子の比表面積はこれより1オーダー程度低く,ヘプタントレーサーでは有効界面積の測定ができなかった。このため,当初の計画を変更して,1×10^2〜1×10^3m^<-1>程度の比界面積を測定する手法の開発を試みることにした。具体的には,水相に界面活性剤を投入し,界面活性剤の疎水部と親和性の高いトレーサーを用いることにより,気液界面におけるトレーサーの吸着係数を高める方法を試みた。現在のところ,この方法についてはまだ成功していないが,今後さらに探索をつづける予定である。空気の流れている部分と停滞している部分を区別することに関しては,界面積についてはこの目標は達成されなかったが,流れている部分と停滞している部分の気相容積についてはこれを解析する手法を提案ることに成功した。さらに,毛管力に基づいたネットワークモデルを作成し,シミュレーションを行なった。計算結果は,文献値の脱水過程とはよく一致している。以上,本研究の当初の目的であった,気相の流れている部分と停滞している部分の界面積を区別することに関しては,正確な界面積の算出にはまだ若干時間がかかるが,ともかくも流れている部分と停滞している部分を区別する方法については開発に成功したと考える。
The objectives of this study is to measure the gas-liquid interfacial area in unsaturated soil by gaseous tracers, to distinguish the interface formed on flowing gaseous phase and stagnant gaseous phase, and to construct a network model to simulate the relationship between gas-liquid displacement and change in interfacial area. We used heptane, which was reported to be good tracer for water-air interfacial area measurement. However, in turned out that, with heptane, we hardly are able to measure the interfacial area below 1×10^<-5>m^<-1>, the range we were interested in. Thus, at this moment we are yet to measure the precise gas-liquid interfacial area with gaseous tracers. Now we are improving the gas tracer method, for example we now investigating if addition of surfactant into the liquid enhance the tracer gas adsorption to the gas-liquid interfacial area. For distinguishing the flowing and stagnant part of gaseous phase, we proposed a method to measure the volume of flowing and stagnant gaseous phase, by analyzing the response curve. As for the modeling, we constructed a network model, based on capillary force and incorporating gaseous entapment in a water-wet medium, and simulated the change in interfacial area and compared the results with reported gas-liquid interfacial area measured by liquid tracer methods. The model results agree with the reported experimental ones in drainage processes.
