本研究では葉緑体型ATP合成酵素の活性制御に重要なεサブユニットのC末端側α-ヘリックス部分およびγサブユニット上の調節領域部分に注目し、これらの重要性を生化学的、生理学的に調べた。その結果、これらの調節機構によるATP合成酵素のATP加水分解活性の抑制が、ATPが合成されない暗所下での細胞内ATP量の維持に必要であることを明らかにした。
Physiological effects of C-terminal α-helices of the ε subunit and regulatory region of the γ subunit of chloroplast-type ATP synthase were investigated. We found that those regulatory mechanisms were important for maintenance of intracellular ATP levels in dark.
