公民館は,地域における重要な拠点として,学習活動を通じて地域の担い手を育てるとともに,地域の状況や住民のニーズに応じて,地域課題の解決のための取り組みを行っている。震災後における公民館職員へのヒアリングにおいて,公民館職員は,地域住民の「つながり」形成に重要な役割を果たしていると述べるとともに,利用する地域住民は,公民館が,住民と住民,住民と地域,地域と他の地域を結ぶ機能を果たしている,と応えている。公民館における社会教育事業が,魅力的で活力ある地域コミュニティの再生に寄与している。
As one of the important footholds in the region, Kominkan (Community learning Centers) bring up the builder of the local community through learning activities, and solve the regional problems in cooperation with each other depending on the situation of the district and needs of local inhabitants. In the interviews after the earthquake disaster, the staff of Kominkan said that Kominkan contributes to forming "Connection (tunagari)" among inhabitants. In addition, User of the Kominkan answered that Kominkan has a function of linking people with other people, people with the area they live in, and one area with another. Social education work of Kominkan will contribute to remaking the local community more active and attractive.
