Note (General): 本研究では、日本剣道(KENDO)と韓国剣道(KUMDO)の文化的・競技的相異点を解明し、日本剣道(KENDO)の韓国への伝播および変容過程を明らかにした。剣道の国際的普及の背景には、近年、韓国剣道(KUMDO)が競技力を高め、世界剣道選手権大会において日本剣道KENDOとの激しい覇権争いを演じている現状がある。剣道を巡る出自・歴史・政治の各側面から、ヘゲモニー問題という文化摩擦が生じた。日本剣道(KENDO)の国際的普及と韓国剣道(KUMDO)の国際化の方向性の相違が、文化普遍主義的な展開を目指す日本剣道(KENDO)と文化相対主義に訴える韓国剣道(KUMDO)との軋轢となっている。
The purpose of this study is to firstly clarify the differences on the cultural and competitive aspects between Japanese KENDO and Korean KUMDO, and secondly to clarify the propagation and transformation process from Japanese Kendo to Korean Kumdo.On the international diffusion (dissemination) of Kendo, there is the current situation of the heavy hegemony conflict between Japanese Kendo and Korean Kumdo in the World Kendo Championships due to Korean Kumdo teams’ improvement in competitiveness. The hegemony conflict has caused cultural friction from its birth, history, politics and other aspects surrounding Kendo.The differences of the directions between international dissemination of KENDO and the internationalization of KUMDO has clearly become a source of friction caused by the Japanese KENDO aimed at cultural universalism and Korean KUMDO of cultural relativism.
