本研究の目的は、二つの途上国の農村を事例に、人々の教育に対する認識や期待形成が将来の経済開発にいかなる影響をおよぼすかについて検証するものである。教育の促進に対しては、子供の能力に対する教員・親の認識や期待形成がきわめて重要な役割を果たす可能性があるが、国によって、あるいは社会経済状況によって、その意味は一律でない。この点に留意し、本研究では親の認識や期待形成プロセスとその影響、家計内における交渉問題と子供の就学状況に対する影響について検討した。
The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of parental perception and expectation on children's education and its contribution to future economic development in developing countries. It is likely that parental perception and expectation on children's ability greatly affect promotion of children's education, but the meaning differs from country to country and depending on each social economic condition. This study examined parental perception and expectation and the effects on investment in children's education, and the household bargaining and the effects on child's school enrollment.
