Note (General): 複素数を拡張した四元数とよばれる数の集合に基づく構造を持つ幾何学的な空間（四元数多様体とよばれる）内の曲面の研究を行った．四元数多様体に付随するより扱いやすくまた多くの研究蓄積のあるツイスター空間の道具立てを駆使して研究成果を得た．具体的には，四元数不変量を構成しその下限を与える曲面の特徴付けや，停留点を与えるような曲面の性質である．その一部は既知の結果を一般化したしたものであり，さらには改良したものとなっている．
We study surfaces in a quaternionic manifold. Using the twistor space, which is associted with the quaternionic manifold and has many results, we obtain the results. In particular, we construct a quaternionic invariant for such surfaces, and find the lower bound and its characterization. Moreover the first variation formula is calculated. Some of these result give generalizations and improvements of known theorems.
