Note (General): 本研究は，日本武道・西洋武術を課題とした日独の比較研究を行うため，日本の武道及びヨーロッパ，とりわけドイツの剣術や格闘術などの武術成立過程にある思想，文化的，そして社会的要因について調査・検討するものであった.この研究で得られたデータや史料に基づき，日本とドイツの武道・武術の実情及びそれぞれの国の文化的背景や思想的価値観など，普遍的要素及び相違点について深めることができた．また，この研究成果の一環として，学術書籍2冊を仕上げ，学術論文も4点をまとめた．加えて，数回にわたって国際学会発表も行なった．さらに，この研究で得られたデータや史料は，今後の研究にも大いに役に立つと確信している．
This study focused on research into and comparisons of Japanese and Western (especially German) martial arts, like swordsmanship and bare hand combat. Accordingly, investigations and examinations were conducted from a philosophical, cultural and social point of view. Through the research data and historical sources which could be obtained, academic knowledge about the conditions of martial arts in Japan and Germany, the cultural values and philosophical background of martial arts in both countries, as well as their similarities and differences could be deepened. As a result of this research two academic books, four articles and several (oral) presentations at international sports science and/or martial arts congresses were published. Furthermore, the research data and historical sources, which could be obtained through this research, will be helpful for further studies.
